Last Thanksgiving I decided to combine my dream of owning an historical property with my 20 year career of designing and drawing houses. I thought I was coming up with a very affordable compromise. I would make it small. If my pocketbook only knew.............

With some fundemental cabinetry skills, a workshop full of power and hand tools and access online to the resources and knowledge of many miniature enthusiasts I decided to give it a go!

I started with some basic drawings I produced with an AutoCad drafting program and the word Georgian floating around in my head.

The front began to materialise. I scored all the "limestone" block lines with a straight edge and the Dremel router. WHEW! What a time consuming task that was.

I recessed the windows with a standard router and came up with my own trim design.

The table saw scared me a bit (and still does) but I managed to cut out all the walls and floors and dry fit them. Then it was nail, glue and clamp time. I couldn't believe how satisfying it was to see this small house go together.
