Some of the detail work was more challenging for me.

In the living room I decided to hand paint a festoon type motif at the cornice. Tiny brush... huge patience. I would spend more time on it if I had to do it again and maybe explore making a tiny stencil.

On the stairs I added brackets under the risers. I cut each one out of 1/16" basswood. I really liked the way they turned out even though you have to look closely to notice them. In fact, you will probably have to enlarge the photo to notice them  .

The mahogany columns were turned on a full size lathe. It was a learning experience for me.

I chose to make the exterior cornice elaborate, really wanting it to look as Georgian as I could manage. At this point I am totally confused as to what type of finish roof material to use, wood shingles, tin or slate.

It may be the toughest decision yet.

I cannot believe the details you put in the interior decoration! I couldn't make my Mom believe it's a dollhouse and not a real room.
