Gluing and such.
So I sanded down the primed pieces and put 'em all back together, and thought, well why not glue 'em at this point, and see what happens? So I did. I was very careful with the wood glue so I wouldn't get great globs of it all around hard as rock, like I unfortunately did with the Pierce. I also paid careful attention to keeping things square, though the right front wall did not want to sit on the first floor as it should... I sort of glued in the order that the instructions said, but since it was fit together anyway, I ended up pretty much going to town on it, except I did not glue the upper half of the left and front walls as per the instructions.
Then I turned my attention to the staircase. I dry fit the unfinished pieces together, and crammed it into place; that was a really tight fit.
It did not look as I expected. I guess I should go stare at some Beacon Hills for a bit. The trim pieces have never hit me exactly right, so I started thinking about another look for the railing:
I will have to think on that for a bit.
