hearse

I was looking at my dollhouses earlier today and thought that one of them would make a cool looking haunted house. so i pulled out my hearse and took a few photos. of course a cat HAD to get into the photos. This time it was Cassie.

New Bespaq photos

Okay so i re-took all the photos of my bespaq/hansson/JBM/jiayi etc furniture...i wanted to have wallpaper in the background so i could get an idea of what it could possibly look like in a house..... Since i took the last photos i found a few of my missing items...so i'll have some new photos to share. i did buy some new bespaq a couple of weeks back and it has arrived! so new photos of those items as well. still waiting for other pieces to arrive and when they do i'll add photos. Bespaq etc.

I'm re-photographing all the pieces. i'll delete that last entry after i re-load photos. i'm not even halfway thru photographing stuff. i was talking to my brother on the phone for about an hour then i stopped for lunch. hopefully i can finish today. I was able to get 3/4 of the furniture re-photographed. I did manage to get the photos on my computer and selected the pictures I wanted resized. After I photograph the rest of the pictures i'll do a new blog entry with the newer photo

Wicker furniture for little girls room

I have some new wicker photos to share. Recently my friend Terri (smallhouset) finish a set of wicker for a girls room for my Foxhall. I'm excited it's exactly how I pictured it would look! The bed was very delicate and needs a little repair but i can so picture it dressed up with pretty fabric and pillows.

RGT's front opening shop

I got some painting done last week. i think i will put one more coat of the body of the building, and the front opening panels will need a couple of more coats of paint. i just get bored painting so i stop after a certain point...lol... i had a hard time deciding on a paint color but settled on this color. i think it will match what i'm doing to the interior the best.

Beaumont photos

This house was a challenge to put together. the first floor sheet was the problem. i should have taken it apart and made the slots wider but i didn't. i had to use the hammer to coax certain parts to go together and the first floor to lay somewhat flat. it's not perfect but it's about as good as it will get. ah well that is what flooring and trim are for right? cover up the imperfections. Despite the naughtiness of the kit resisting my attempts, i did get it put together and I think i will reall

did a "little" decorating last weekend

Obviously these two houses are a work in progress, but at least i got a start to decorating these houses. I need to do many things before i will actually really do the decorating. First, i need to finish the exterior of both houses. I need to find a better and more stable place to display the beacon hill, it's not balanced well on the table. I need to make window treatments and bedding for the beds. Obviously the bedding i have on each bed right now doesn't match and it definately doesn't lay ri

beacon hill

I inventoried my kit! and i'm happy to say that it is complete. I just couldn't let this deal go by, i got it for 125.00. i had been wanting another BH since I absolutely love this house! I have some fun plans for it. I was a good girl and put all the pieces back tho so that I wouldn't get started on it yet. i have too many other projects on the go at the moment.

random blahs

i sure miss working on minis and dollhouses. real life has intruded on my mini world and i'm so ready to escape back into my favorite world. i really want to work on my garfield, i just need more wood to form my extensions. i'll have to search home depot and lowes i guess. i don't want to side my house until i can see if the extensions that i desire are feasible. i refuse to use foam core board. anyway, my contributions to my mini life this past month were to buy a much sought afte

Rosedale!!!

I finally got one! The sandpaper roofing has got to go. i'm not crazy about sandpaper for roofing, especially when it has a seam in it! Overall the house is in really really good condition!

dad's dollhouse

My dad passed away today. There is so much i don't know about him and probably never will. He was a very private man and it was hard for him to share information about himself. I found something about him today that i never knew. 40 some odd years ago, my mother asked him to build her a dollhouse. He did. Well, a rough basic shell at any rate. I found out about it today. I had never heard the story before. I had never laid eyes on the dollhouse. As I walked up to his house this evening in the d

Christmas cabin

Okay so i went thru all my dollhouse goodies in the basement. i had a hard time finding furniture that is not victorian! I had a really hard time finding something that would even sort of go in a cabin (the only thing i bought for this cabin was the kitchen table set, which i repainted and still need to upolster the seats)...i will probably repaint it again at some point, not crazy about the tabletop. Oh, and the cut bear table in the front room. Anyway i took some shots with some of the items t

Glencroft photos

Some photos of the basic shell. doesn't look like much right now, but i do really like this house kit in reverse! I haven't glued on the back roof panel or the side panel by the stairs, they are just there so i can get an idea of how things look.

Glencroft, a new story

I'm building my second Glencroft. One of my favorite dollhouse kits. When i built my first one, I decided that I had to build another and that it would be built in reverse and also have an extension off the kitchen. So I opened the box and began construction today! The basic shell is built and I have to say that i love this house in reverse! I'll take pictures shortly. The glue is drying and it's too soon to remove the masking tape. It will be somewhat different than my last house, but will have

garf stairs

Okay, here's a couple (hehe) more shots, but with the stairs. They aren't permanently attatched yet because i need to wallpaper. I am including a shot of the most likely wallpaper. it's the one that is calling the loudest to me and will match the stair runner better. I wanted the rose colored runner but it's just too narrow and wouldn't look right. I still have modification sto make to the staircases and will add alot of trim and railings to dress it up. now that the stairs are glued together th

Primed Garfield

My house is finally at the stage that i can show pictures and you can see my changes without wondering what is what. just got done sanding the spackle and priming this afternoon. I hope to get the staircases put together tomorrow and to dry fit them into place so you can get my idea of how they will go. the house will have a 3 story extension on either side. the retangular dead space between the dining room on the first floor and the rooms on the 2nd floor will be cov

more garfield notes.

I had to widen 3 of the door openings, i discovered this after i bought 1 door from hobby lobby just to make sure i had the right width ....glad i did that. i had used a french door to make my measurements initially and obviously they are different sizes. So after this was completed I spackled all of my changes in the walls on the interior. I need to spackle one of the walls again but i have to wait until the first layer dries. This weekend I hope to sand it all down then prime the interior. Th

garfield progress

Yay! i finished off the areas around where the stairs come up, had a good idea of how to do that yesterday when i looked at it. it was just a matter of doing it one step at a time to figure out the next portion. I just got done sanding all the stair pieces and i'm taking a break before i start staining. tomorrow morning i will probably try to spackle everything and on tuesday i hope to sand and then prime the interior. then i can take photos! i think i'm done with all the bashing to the main por

garfield door

My new door arrived today for the garfield! it fits the opening perfectly . i'll have to fill in the top corners of the opening as the door is rounded at the top. that shouldn't be a problem! I think i'll run down and glue on the front roof section so that i can feel like i'm making some progress today.... edit: yep, glued the rest of the porch roof on! yay! i love how you can take flat pieces of wood and make them into a structure! I gathered up all the wood pieces f

a couple of garfield pics

i test fitted some of the windows to see what it would look like. i still need to cut out the octagon shaped window in the gable. i started to work on the porch roof today but couldn't get much done as i had other obligations for the day, but at least it's a start. The house will have a 3 story addition on each side. So the new living room will actually be in the extension..it will have a fireplace and the window seat that was originally on the first floor of the side of the house.

garfield

I'm getting very excited about this! i popped the roof panels out of the sheets to dry fit them and it really gives me an idea of how the 3rd floor will look. i will really make it useable space. I am taking a lunch break and hope to get all the roof panels sanded and glued into place today. then i'll cut one more octagonal opening for a replacement window and fill in a couple of more areas taht used to be windows but are now doorways (just need to fill in the rounded area). Then i think i will

well i got most of the house put together yesterday, all exterior walls and all the floors. just need to permanently place the room divider on the second floor and R&P the roof panels. I don't know if i will permanently attatch those yet but i do want to dry fit them because i've never really had a good idea of how floor space is in the Garf, especially the attic. I need to visualize it so that i can plan rooms up there. So for today i think i'll get the room divider glued into place then r

Well, i got all the openings filled, cut or moved that i plan to do with the basic shell of the house. i have glue drying right now. I might start putting it together tonight we shall see A wall partition that i made will have to be modified, i think i made it too tall by 1/8" and i want to add another piece to it. So i will have to trim it down a bit...also my original plan has changed for that partition. i want to move a door opening into the dining room. i thought i'd take a tea break to th
