The Glencliff

This house is going to be huge! I haven't taken the parts out of plastic for a dry fit simply because there are too many of them and i don't know how i would store them again. The box they came isn't sturdy anymore and the parts are heavy...so when i do a dry fit, i will actually build the house...so for now the parts will remain wrapped in plastic. This is Lucinda Edwards, i love her face it is incredibly detailed. It's a darn shame i couldn't get better close ups...most of the pho

I will update my webshots, tonner dolls....i have 13 new dolls to add. purchased them earlier this year and it has taken me this long to take their photos. completed pub

We aside from needed to glue the door in place, i'm finished with the pub! I'm glad. Still not crazy about how this building turned out, either interior or exterior. It's just not my favorite and i'm not real enthused about it. I should have taken photos before i applied the one coat of polyurethane as the flash distorted the colors. I need to fix one of the panels in the shelf, it's broken and punched inward. i'm thinking i will have to pierce it with a pin to pull it back forwar

my pub

2/26/08. Okay, looking at the building again the next day, i like it a little better. still not happy with the way the timbers turned out, but in person, the colors are pleasing. you can't tell from the photos, but the stonework has variations in color of the stone and the paperclay stucco has varied tones of dirty wash. So there are some good aspects to the house. What i have done with my timbers was that i cut them and made them irregular in shape and then when i put the paperclay on it filled

photos of my pub

Well the witch/wizard pub is slowly coming together. This is only my second attempt with paperclay and tudor timbers. I won't be doing it again. By the time you get the timbers repainted, it's a tough process to make it look good. It looks like a preschooler did the paint job. Didn't help that i painted outside the lines in a few places. No way to fix it except throw some moss on it...lol... I spent time working on the house and it's below my expectations of myself. It matches the witch/wizard s

beads beads and more beads....

Uh, went kind of crazy. Violet2dawn showed us some lovely little teapot beads that she discovered and I fell in love. I love tiny little pretty things. I got 5 different sets of the sterling silver teapot beads and didn't want to pay so much for each individual glass bead...so Hobby Lobby was having a sale and I hit Michaels as well. The end result was NOT 5 different type of beads to make the pots, but many different colors of beads just because they were pretty. I knew i'd end up buying more t

my new wicker!

I have photos of my new wicker!!! The photos with the 3 chairs and a table and plants will be going into my Foxhall morning room. Terri made these items specifically for the morning room I will love that room I know, these items turned out even better than i imagined and i wanted a romantic feminine look and i think she met that goal perfectly!!!!! It will be a wonderful room with this furniture in it. I LOVE these beautiful items! Wish i could miniaturize myself and enjoy sitting

bh sink

Okie dokie, just tried to find a new sink for my kitchen. To get one that isn't as nice (detailed), it will cost me around 20 dollars including shipping. I paid less than that for the sink that is already in the kitchen...then i had this great idea! I had already planned to make a skirt to go around the sink...so i just had this great idea to pop the legs off of the sink that i have now...and like better.....then i'll put it on some kind of base and the skirt will hide it. So i can adjust that b

most of the rooms are completed on the Beacon Hill!!

Well i'm now finished with most of the rooms! I had the great idea to add a new front door and a double french door to the kitchen so those rooms still need work. I actually love how it looks now! I was so/so about it before! I've always felt that the kitchen was bland and this door really changes the look of it! I'm going to add wainscotting as well. I've just spent some time staining the wood. I need a new kitchen sink as i want it to tuck under the window sill, this one is about 1/4" to tall.

storybook is pretty much done!!!

I just need doorknobs and the signs for outside and this witch/wizard shop is completed! yay! Part of the roof looks strange but that's because it's drying and i couldn't wait for it to dry before i took pictures

almost finished storybook

1/12/08 Well, i think i'm now almost finished. I need to get the roof completed. I need to glue on the front door as well. this is my witch/wizard shop. I don't have alot of supplies for it yet. I do have more stuff in the basement but wasnt' up to getting it out just to take photos. Brickwork obviously isn't my thing. Also the colors are darker than the IRL but i was in a dark room with a flash. Overall the dollhouse looks better in person as well, but at

This will be a witch/wizard shop of some kind. I don't have alot of witch/wizard supplies at this point...so i don't want to set my mind on something and not be able to find the supplies that i want....so...i'll leave things open at the moment. I will paint the interior and probably age it...i want to create a dark mystical place...so lots of dark stained wood (hey no surprise there since all my projects seem to develpe dark stained wood  )...The attic will have wide wood plan

storybook

1/10/08 Got the building dirty washed, the bricks painted and the stonework just lightly painted. Overall it's not quite the look i was going for. I had pictured a lighter dirty wash. Should have started out lighter, then added more color if it wasn't what i wanted. My brickwork turned out with more of a purple look than i had wanted. I had imagined deep dark reds and browns for the bricks. Ah well, at least practice on this house will help with future houses. Today after running er

progress on the storybook

January 6th....Well, got the paperclay done yesterday! Now that it's done, i can see how i should have added a couple of more timbers here and there. there are some timbers that seem to just float. ah well. overall i like the way it's looking. I think next time i'll do the brickwork differently as well, but it doesn't look horrible so i'm okay with how it looks now...i just know i'll do it better next time! after it dries, i'll spend thursday dirty washing it and doing the brickwor

Beacon Hill pictures

Well the interior so so close to completion!!! I need a few more pieces of trim for the dining room and around the staircases...the window installed in the kitchen...still think i may try to make it out of spare parts...the one i made of foamcore board just isn't quite right. And i need to polyurethane everything. I like doing the before and after photos when i polyurethane, i love the transformation the wood undergoes. Plus the floor is so shiny and causes glare after you polyureth

beautiful wicker for my Foxhall conservatory

This gorgeous wicker set was made by Smallhouset, who is a member of Greenleaf. She does absolutely gorgeous work!!!! I'm so excited about getting to put this wicker set in my Foxhall conservatory. I'll have to play around with it a little to see how best to position it and show it off! This wooden box that i have it in for these pictures is the actual conservatory that it will go into. The fabric covering the window openings will most likely be my drapery fabric. It will all depend on the type

My lost wicker...it's found!!!!

here are some photos....the person did a nice job making the set, i'm just not crazy about the material she used. I'll make some new cushions for it It's like a burnt umber color...i'm thinking about repainting it to either a lighter brownish color or a forest green. I'll have to think on this. The photos make the color appear lighter than it actually is.

old dollhouse

I just got this house today. It was an impulse buy that i regret I just had a thought to put it up for sale under the same classifieds listing that i found it under today. If it doesn't sell, i'm going to tear it apart and salvage the staircase...although the pictures highlight how filthy it is, it looks like the staircase is in good condition and very unique.

Greenleaf Appalachian country log home

This was a really awesome house to get my hands one! I just got it last week and i have already stained all of the wood! I just need to put it together! One very cool feature of this house is that it has individual logs.

Completed Glencroft!!!!!!!!!!

I finished the Glencroft today. I absolutely love this house and can't wait to build another. This house has been a pleasure from start to finish. I'm pleased with the results. I'll add more color variation with my next Glencroft, but this house turned out exactly as i imagined and dreamed of how it should look when i finished. Now...where to display it is the next question! It will probably sit down in the family room with the Chantilly, which is also completed and waiting for a place to be dis

glencroft rehab demolition

:hide: I was going to carry the house down to the basement for storage. I touch a piece of the house and it popped off. 15 min later the house was demolished It came apart way easier than it should have, the hot glue was dry and brittle. So, i will start from the ground up on this rehab project. Most likely in the spring cuz i need to take it outside to scrap off the stucco. and remove wallpaper. I can lay the pieces on the patio table to dry if needed. I will most likely have t

glencroft rehab

I picked up the Glencroft last night for 10 dollars. It needs alot of work and was put together with hot glue. I don't know how far i will go to tear it apart since the "stucco" on the outside is unusual and hard. I don't know if i can replicate it or not. This morning i'm feeling that when i do start on it, i may tear the basic structure apart and start fresh. I just don't know at this point. I think the shingles will be fairly easy to remove. The person who built the house, glued

pepperwood farm, a dollhouse rehab

I won this house off of ebay....the seller lives right next door in the wonderful world of Colorado! She shipped this house to me via greyhound, it got here really quick!!! I knew this house would need alot of work, despite the sellers description of the house (which mentioned it didn't need much work), i could see it needed a good rehab. Now that i have it in hand, i see that parts of it will have to be replaced. I still think i got a great dollhouse however and it will be fun to s
