Having had some time at hands at home with no major renvotions going on, just sort of relaxing and enjoying that so to speak. That has given me the opportunity of mini-ing and since the Adams is the house I have that isn't emptied out and sits on the table (oh well along with the tray of the Buttercup but that is another story LOL)
Christmas was great with lots of minis which allready have made their way into the Adams filling up space and giving it a home and lived in look. We have starte
We'll instead of a Broomerie, there is a seaside cottage, it is inhabited by a single fella' who is a sucker for animals in all shapes and forms, has a few living with him and take in what ever animal needs help. Right now he has a frog who needed some attention that he made a small home for, the doggies are right at home and there is a kitty or two living in the vincinty that comes round when they feel like it. I think Marw the Mole enjoys the garden as well and if I am not misstaken a seagull
Not sure if you allready read the little "talk" mr Adams and me (with a small comment from Mz Storybook as well...) but today while we were pruning the fruit tree outside I heard a distinct holler from the craft room upstairs, "This is how I want to look..." So we are now talking dressing the exterior with boards instead of what I thought he wanted earlier... >sighs< Oh well... Need to get some flat "stick" boards to add.
This willl be a look that I haven't done before, fun and diffe
The bed had been sanded, re-painted, added some spackle to corners etc and sanded again and the last coat of paint prior to dressing it. Really simple dressing that is as that is what I have seen on the pics from the bedrooms, nothing fancy at all... So no frills and lace....
Still have to dress the baby cot and re-paint the little wooden stool
A little trivia regarding Mrs Carl Larsson, Karin...
She designed not just fabric items but she also designed furniture and had a local carpenter make them for her and it is said that the pieces she made were really practical for their intended use but the carpenter thought them hideous so when he was "done" with them and should deliver them to their house he did so after dark as he didn't want to be known as have made these LOL, poor guy huh?!? ;)
There are a few different ve
So I just had to take a pic of the new bed... It is not the best light but still one can see the difference I think
the old bed
and the new bed
We are happier now I think, still need to dress it though...
Hugs
We have been slowly working out the details in here, adding a little bit of this and a little bit of that, but the bed I made just didn't "do it" so to speak...
Soooo, today I ripped of the corner parts and re-did those, added a few more wood trim pieces, nothing fancy but still another layer of interest so to speak... It is drying right now so will have to wait to take more pics until tomorrow I suppose...
Hugs
Well, I did get one of those parcels under the tree last year... In it there was an Adams (expected but not knowing anyhow, DH's idea of fun LOL) and a surprise Storybook cottage...
Soooo, I thought when the Adams would arrive we had agreed upon it becoming the long awaited "Broomeri" yay!!!! We had allready discussed thos long-distance so to speak, I only needed the measurments to get the broomery straw departments ready so I was really happy when it arrived from under the tree..
Th
OK, so I have had a good rummage around for the stuff accumulated for the "what not shop" at the top floor next to the Egyptian room, and found that I only need about three or four hats and it too will be "done" ;) oops huh??? So I cut the platic mirror from a larger sheet, added that one, cleaned up the space a little and then there it was almost done as well, wow, feels a bit weird seeing one room come together...
And now on to the pet grooming area,
So today has been one of those days going in between projects as the glue/paint/whatever is needed so I think I can almost call the Egyptian room in "Her Highness" aka Gloucester done, all I need to do is to finish off those posts with the rope as well and add some small explaining cards here and there for the little people to read off...
Happy dance! Hmm, now what to do next then???? Oh take pics I suppose, but it is soooo grey here today...
Well here are some pics:
&
So here is one of my Larsson links:
http://runeberg.org/clarsson/
and I learnt that there supposedly is a great book with lots and lots of pics of the interior of the house and the best of it all is that our local library has it so I will have to go and borrow that real soon as I am sort of a stand still right now until I decide a few things....
Well, as I had a morning meeting this morning I didn't have to leave as early as I usually so I got a few minutes extra and I used them to addign the interior trim on the windows in the girls and Karin's bedroom, no picture just yet though as it was a reallt gret and dreary morning, will have to wait till I get home later on to take a few pics, and now it is time to look into the furniture building for this room, beds, chest of drawers, cradle etc etc, oh what fun! Not to foget the tiled stove/D
Well, here is a picture of the wallpaper as well as the border and some of the trim work in place, still need to add the flooring boards....
Having sooooo much fun here!

Forgot to add the pics of paintings I found of the room:
Well, since Mr LE Arthru is a very soft spoken fella' he has patiently awaited his turn to get attention, ie until latley when he really put his foot down and said "My turn!" so I have the two chairs from the show in Stockholm put together as well as that gorgeous Grandfather clock that will get some painted patterns later on when I am decorating thew whole kitchen area so that it won't get to busy etc etc
I still have to put in the floors in the house which is what is holding me up as to
So today Mr LE Arthru finally showed some temperament and even stomped (well almost LOL) his foot at me when I were just going to pass up on doing some work for him... So I settled down and put together the Grandfather clock kit I now have (thanl you Heidi!! ) and it is primed and base coated, he is muttering about him wanting it to be adorned with those "foldlore" motives, but we'll see about that when the rest of things are getting in place, we want the whole scene to go together which is what
Here are a couple of new pics of the stuff Rosalind sent me that made Her Highness purrrrrr in delight, we still have to put the pictures on the wall etc but we are still not sure as we have the front wall to consider as well....
We also still need to make small signs to "tell" about what the objects are etc, we are soooo close to have this room done, yay!
Hugs
Well, as the things I got from Rosalind is put in place in Her Highness the idea of finishing up a few pieced I have been thinking of took priority so to speak... Nothing much but it needed a coat of guilding so as the weather was working for me today I could do it outside...
I had these snake charms and I made the other thingy (can't say it in English, sceptor(?) or something like that????) out of a huge paper clip and a little piece form a turned toothpick as the handle.
She
Her Highness is purring in delight right now as she has some new wonderful items in the Egyptian room.... No pics just yet as it i a bit dark to get decent pics without using the flash so that I will have to do in the morning....
Thank you ever so much Rosalind this really adds to the look!!!!
Hugs
I have added a few shelves here and there in the room, those still needs things apart from the one I put up above the sarcophagues (sp???) which now holds the four much neede canopic jars... Thanks Gayle!!! I decided to go with the plain ones LOL, but otherwise it would have been in these shapes ;Imset (depicted as a human) was responsible for the liver; -Hapy (a baboon) for the lungs; -Duamutef (a jackal) for the stomach; Kebechsenef (a falcon) for the viscera of the lower body. But they reall
So yesterday I got to collect the trims and mouldings I had ordered and I did indeed start cutting pieces for the bed inspired by the bed found in Carl Larsson's room and I have also painted most of the trim that will go in the other bedroom upstairs, now I will only need to find the border and/or wallpaper samples to be able to reduce those for the large bedroom...
The bed still needs its matress as well as bedding and the curtains, not sure how I am going to finish the top of this
Mr LE Arthur thought I ought to gather up the pics of the progress so far, right now we are counting/calculating and sorting out what trim to use where so that I can get the "shopping" list done...
Will have to re-size the rest prior to upload them though...
Hugs
So, got this little trinket box throne in today's mail and Her Highness is approving of it, OK she says the Egyptian department needs a good cleaning but I claim it is just builder's dust
There are more different kinds of "thrones" like this, perhaps I need another one next to this one, sort of like "his" and "hers"???
Still awaiting some cake stands for the tea shoppe...
Hugs
Mr Arthur is soooo very nice to work with, very soft yet precise in his wishes, so today when the Spring Fling houses were throwing a hissy fit over not wanting what we had agreed upon earlier I brought him outside to start priming the walls, both inside as well as the exterior. The interior is just an off white for now, preparing the walls for the Carl Larsson theme to come...
This shows the exterior paint, the name of the colour is terracotta, but in my eyes it is one of the softer red
Here is the shop counter in place, still needs some cleaning though as the "glass" is really messy... I will need to make oooooodles of books to keep these shelves stocked But that will be fun!
Hugs
So Her Highness is getting some new items that I got at the show, the bookstore is getting a walnut coloured counter, and I am going to make a "few" books to start filling thew shelves, and discovered that the leather bound books I have allready-made are too tall for most of the shelves, but the corner one will work, well we'll see what I will do with that as I really think it needs some leather bound books in there... I am going to make up a few more books that have paper covers and those won't
