still at a standstill with these beauties....they are softly calling...finish us... finish us... they will never be finished...a lifetimes work in progress but they are so pretty thought i'd share where i'm up to

well after 4 months they stopped talking....they cant decide on wallpaper for the last 4 rooms so i shipped them out of the craft room they can sit till they shout again i need a distraction i think...something smaller!!!!! :yikes:

top floor of the old Beacon nearly done :)

wow i've been slack :w00t: havent done anything until today and went wild heres the top floor of the old beacon...renovated to be the Lady of the house's private quarters :yikes: not quite finished as i ran out of skirting and flooring i've put her a private bathroom in her room...quite common in those days Still needs some tweaking ....the beddings all wrong.....but i like it so far

men's smoking/billiard room

finished the mens smoking/billiard/chess/bar room this means......only one more room to go in the new Beacon Hill Hope you like it...i do heres some ideas with furniture or i may make it the dining room :yikes: we will see when i get the last room finished.....did i tell you i only had ONE ROOM TO GO !!!! :w00t:

starting on the old beacon...:( i dont like seeing it all wrecked :P

i'm starting to renervate the inside of my 1st Beacon Hill....its quite distressing actually.... my beautiful Beacon all trashed :w00t: I'm sure i will like it better once its done gawd i hope i do :yikes: Heres the top floor ladies reading/quiet room and the start of the hallway...this may become her writing room...no idea yet so many rooms!!!!

moving along...another room done and demolition started on the old beacon :O

finished the childrens school/play room....(wallpaper templates to be glued in when all rooms are done ) i added a false hall to the back of the room and today i started the demolition....renervation....of the old beacon hill.... my beautiful beacon is in dissarray ....however she will look fabulous once she's done let me say....those stairs are a tad tricky to paint when they are already installed....i feel like a contortionist :yikes:

little girls bedroom and gents study just about done :)

i got lots done today........just about finished the little girls bedroom and the gentlemans study how exciting!!! 3 rooms to go once i've done them all i'll beable to check the lighting and stick in the wallpaper templates in the 3 middle rooms properly i put a trim over the stairs in the study to try and hide the fact they go to nowhere i'm trying to make it look like they lead up to the tower...i think it works ok :yikes:

study/library

well havent done too much in the last week...had a bit of a break :yikes: But i've started the study/library and got more of the lights in heres a preview...still a few trims to go in and not all of it is stuck yet :lol: on the up side i have found the tables!!! nothing flash but within my budget and they will work nicely i'll put them on wheels and move the sliding drawer down so the basements will sit on them...maybe even slide out

i'm starting to put the lights in the new Beacon and fiddling about with decorations....couldnt wait heres the overall so far and the nanny's room and heres the linen/trunks store and the servant entry alot to do but its still fun :yikes: i'll light the 6 rooms on each side first...all the wires will come down the central rooms and go to the powerboard underneath the house....the 3 central rooms will have their wallpaper on cardboard

today i caved and put them together to take pics for everyone so without further ado...... here she is....the back to back Beacon Hill Extravaganza!!!! hope you like it....i love it now to the insides :yikes: i'm saving to get 2 coffee tables or some such thing on wheels so she will open for 'play' the basements will be hanging under the tables so you will see them when its open and i plan to connect the towers with a conservatory...

omg i see the end!!! been shingling all week...only the ridge 'tiles' to go.....sticking sandpaper shingles = no finger tips :yikes: this weekend i hope to stick and paint all the twiddley bits and get the whole outside finished!!! The unveiling is near

still painting a thousand bits of windows

I got up this morning and......and....... theres an empty lot!!!!...someone moved the built beacon hill !!!!!! i ran to the craft room.......the new beacon is gone from its building site too!!! the 3 fireplaces

today i worked on the 3 fireplaces and did a bit of wallpapering so i can install the windows i've put in 2 false chimney breasts on an angle...i like the way they are coming out

I am back with speedy internet :)

so.....4 days of snails pace internet because of 2 teenagers sucking up all the monthly downloads playing World Of Warcraft = no blogging...no googling images...no forum....no emails...no facebook....no life!!!!! :yikes: Upside........i got heaps done on the build :o One Derrrrrrrr moment .....i came to fitting the most fabulous feature of the Beacon Hill....the french door :w00t: i had to cut a new hole in the bash for it....i had a new Dremel .....i'd never used an

ahhh here is the porch/servant entry...i like it i divided the sevant entry bit with a black fence which will have some sort of viney effort put on it....the trim for the main house part is the lounge window trim...fitted perfectly :yikes: i like it ...even the roof has toned down a bit...may even 'dirty' it up yet...will wait and see :w00t: Still thinking about the brick printie on the base....seems to be my signature as its on nearly all my house

full steam ahead on the back porch

I've put in 2 dormers, still to do shingling yet...my least favourite thing to do and have been painting a thousand pieces for the porch and posts.....who's idea was it to do 3 colours? Planked and stained the porch....i may do another coat to get it darker...maybe :w00t: hmmmm now i'm looking at the picture....theres hairs all over it!!! :yikes: wheres that furbaby? :lol: Hopefully i'll get some post and porch roof assembly done tonight

ooo naughty me 6 days of nothingness :P

well i had 6 days off the build and went and stayed at my partners for a long weekend :yikes: soooooooo...this is where i'm up to...back and all refreshed and raring to get on with it i might make this a removeable side wall or i'll never reach in there if anything needs doing...lights etc and i have the room wall in...just have to trim it :w00t: heres the inside so far...still a long way to go :lol: these are possible roof id

another day doing the same thing heres the basement stairs cut into the veranda and a handy use for the porch posts...keeping the crown moulding in place while the glue grabs however...a lightbulb moment i needed small windows for the new walls...i think what can i use.... :yikes: i'm not using the front door!!! it has 'glass'....it has 'frames'....i chop it up ....just the right size!!!!! i am clever ...hopefully :w00t: oooo and i'

today i seem to be stuck fiddling with the basement stairs and the wall i had to make.......its all little bits of fiddley stuff which all has to be done before i put the actual staircase back in.....as once i put that wall in i wont beable to get at anything.....so tedious painting trims and skirtings :w00t:...i want to get on with it :yikes: isnt it amazing how we get over problems......i have all the clamps and gizmo's anyone would need.....but i use stupid stuff like rulers pegs and he

Day 20 :)

well so much for my plan to 'slow the build down' I seem to be forging ahead regardless.... painted the shell with 'sahara sand'.......painted the eave trims.....base coat of black on the window roof/roofs/rooves? Started the servant bathroom floor....need to sand and age this yet...but its getting there :lol: heres some pics It's occurred to me now....i havent actually had the two of them together to see if this actually works!!! :w00t: ....
