  4. Thanks for the tips and leads. I'll start getting my feelers out there. I'm in new territory with this dollouse and miniature adventure.
  5. I have that Gazebo, it IS a beauty! and that S/W craft house is a rare find! opening price is very low and Im sure it'll jump from there!
  6. Absolutely stunning, and the shooting of the video just accentuates it further. Amazing work!
  7. Welcome to the forum! I'm aiming to work mostly in 1:12, but I think I have some overseas kits I became obsessed with (The Moran House and the Happy House, and their sister kits) that are 1:144 scale. Enjoy it, and have fun on here as well!
  8. Thanks Pezz26, hadn't thought of spoonflower, but could've been an option, but I have lots of expensive printer fabric sheets going to waste in my cupboard. I took a risk and bought a cheap Canon printer and it works great. Haven't tried vellum or acetate but the fabric went well.
  9. Thank you, I would have gotten smaller size. Glad I asked.
  10. Looking for help to wire a Dolls House All this and more is found on our website: https://littlehousesplus-shop.co.uk or https://smallworldproducts.co.uk
  11. If you don't mind putting in fake windows and doors, a 10-gallon aquarium makes a neat roombox. You simply turn it on its side and paper the walls and finish the ceiling and floors like any room. I don't know how much they cost now, but at one time a 10-gallon aquarium was only about $20. Heck of a lot cheaper than a wood roombox.
  12. I 1st bought this kit in 1978 for $199.00 with my Tax Refund. I sold that house when we moved out of state in 1996. I just bought it again. The maker's date on the new one is 1983. The 1977 model was made with thicker wood. The 1983 model is made out of presswood and is not so strong. The walls easily bend and crack but I'm glad to have the chance to build my dream dollhouse again.
  13. I have the plans that I bought online for this house. I’m still working on the house. I absolutely love it!!! I recommend the plans and the dimensions. It’s a replica of the antique farmhouse I live in!

  16. Maybe just a touch of powder very thin over some of the clusters of dark spots?

  18. Also check eBay. I have found several lights that are no longer being made on there. Houseworks used to make several 1/2 scale fixtures. There are other suppliers that do make fixtures, but some do come with stickershock. These stores I have ordered from with good customer service. 19. Invest in blue painters' tape or beige masking tape and dry fit your house first, taping it together before you glue or nail anything, and spend time looking at it (and conversing with it, to find out what it wants to become). I usually prime the parts I will want to paint or paper later and stain what I want to stain. Since I tend to build from the ground up, I decorate the interior of the first floor before progressing to the second floor. I don't electrify my houses, since I build them for myself to play with, but having the house in dry fit will h elp you decide h ow you'll want to run your wiring as you and the house decide how it wants to be lighted.
  20. That would be a fun line-up to do!
  21. Oh my goodness! I had a grocery store similar to that with the little people and their shopping carts running around in isles powered by a magnet underneath. What Memories! I also think my Holly Hobby doll house was the same way. Not the wood manufactured one, I had a cardboard one with a Holly Hobby doll and plastic furniture. The doll fit in a stand with a magnetic base driven by a wand underneath. That house was the only thing that did not survive the leak in the she shed.
  22. There is part of the Florida Trail that begins at a big, friendly sign about three miles east of Pensacola /Beach that goes through the dunes on the Sound side of the road, one of the few places people are allowed to walk the dunes in Florida. About halfway there;s an abandoned fish hatchery that a nesting pair of bald eagles have claimed and they like to check out hikers. There's also a primitive campground nearby. There's a campground at Ft Pickens with RV and tent sites. One of our old hiking buddies, Sandra Friend, has written some good trail guides for Florida.
  23. Sanding the worst parts might make you feel better in the long run, and I tend to zone out doing repetitive routine stuff like that and have conversations with the house. By all means dry fit to see where you might not have to sand as much.
  24. Does anyone have the ability to measure their Beacon Hill? Particularly I'm in search of the height of the first-floor rooms (floor to ceiling), and the placement of the door (and its width) on the wall between the vestibule/hall and kitchen. Where on the wall is the door, and how wide is the aperture? Thank you ahead of time. I know the kitchen at its narrowest part is 7" and the depth is 11". I just need the third axis.
