  1. Ebay, Etsy & Craig's List Links

This makes me smile.  I have bought a few things from a member on this forum off eBay.  I have left positive feedback all three time and been so happy with my purchases.  But have not had her reciprocate.  After 3 times, I am done.  If the seller does not feel it is necessary to give positive feedback to a buyer on sites,  I have no issue to no longer purchase ever again.  Lost revenue and customer.   This is not an issue of waiting for a few weeks for feedback, I am talking over 6+ months.  Done.  So sad that customer service lacks and they don't understand that is is costing them future sales.

Love these ideas!  I will have to keep this in mind.

I knew there would be a few members out there to push me towards buying the kit. But now you are just being mean by posting the other kits! I am actually good on my kit stash, but would love to add the Victorian to it.  But I think someone in my household would not be happy to see the box show up! I need to get busy on the Cape May and the Vineyard Cottage projects.  Both are at different stages, but with the holidays and such they have been on hold.

I keep seeing this Batrie Cape Cod.  There are two listed and this one just dropped the price and is taking offers.  The other one is still listed at $100 and has 19 watchers.  Not sure why this one has not been snatched up.  I have one Batrie cottage in my stash and don't need another.   I keep looking at this Dura-Craft Victorian and finally decided to leave it alone.  Although I know I will keep looking at it.  But I do not need another kit!
  5. Skilcraft Victorian manor with coach house

Hi Shelly, I have this kit in my stash.  I will see if I can get to it (in the attic), but think it is on top of the stack, so should be easy to open the box and slip out the instructions.  If you send me a PM with your email address and I will try to get them scanned and sent to you.   Matt

A great starting price on the Millie August 1/144 house Sweet Pea.
  7. Been buying kits

Welcome to the club!  You can see in my signature that I have quite a stash, and I keep looking for more!  I know I will never get them all built, but it is fun to find good bargains on the houses you want!  Luckily now, I have a walk up attic, so my kits are laying flat and out of sight from most people who never know of my addiction!

A STEAL on a RGT Queen Anne!

A GREAT price for the Model Homes Cape May!

Did you all know that Shellie Kazan is closing her store in San Carlos, CA?  I recently purchased something from her on eBay, and she mistakenly sent me the wrong item.  When I contacted her, she profusely apologized and said that after 42 years in the mini business she was closing her shop (and probably why she got confused and sent the wrong item).  I asked if she was going to continue to sell on eBay, but haven't heard back.  I have a feeling she is closing down for good (maybe retirement )
  11. Showcase Our Miniature Finds

I am just now seeing this (and your find of the Mayberry Courthouse).  Lucky you!  I happened across one of these kits about 6 months ago, and snapped it up.  It was the Tara kit from Gone With The Wind.  Since then I have seen 3 of the building from Little House on the Prairie TV show on Facebook Marketplace and they went before I could message the seller.  They are rare finds!

  14. Shingling of Bathroom Addition

    From the album Vineyard Cottage

After getting this far with the addition, I realized it was too big for the cottage.  So next step is to cut it down so it is more in proportion with the rest of the house.  I want it to look like the small bath added on some years later that is only big enough for the tub, sink, and toilet. I am going to use the Chrysnbon set here.
  15. Braxton Payne

I just wanted to let you all know what a great experience I have had with this miniaturist. I recently bought one of Braxton Payne's cast New Orleans houses off eBay. It was missing the card stock window and door printouts to be placed on it. I contacted him through his Etsy store. He was GREAT! He was shocked I was able to find the house from 1994. He emailed me the instructions and graphics for the house for free.  I think this one completes my collection of these houses he used to do for the New Orleans miniature show each year.  He he said that he had just talked to his friends that live in the model house just yesterday.  I know there are more of his houses out there on Etsy and eBay, but for his response to me to be so positive is wonderful. It makes me feel better to continue to purchase his mini items.

A Model Homes San Francisco kit just popped up on eBay.  This is a smaller version of my Cape May I am building.  It is not a bad starting price and shipping is reasonable as this kit is heavy.  I have two of them in my stash
  17. Ebay, Etsy & Craig's List Links

It was actually the first dollhouse I built 30+ years ago!  I think it came from the Sears catalog and it was my BIG gift for Christmas from Santa!  The kit is die cut, comes with the paper shingles, and plastic clapboard siding and shutters.  There is also plastic wainscoting and a fireplace for the interior.  The ones in my stash I plan on bashing them (of course) and upgrade all of those components.  It is a Skilcraft kit.  Here is a picture of the kit I had originally from an old eBay auction.  It did not have the carriage house.

This house keeps popping up on my eBay search.  It is a great deal with cheap shipping!  I have two of these in my stash or I would be tempted (still am!) to bid on this.  These kits are 1/4" plywood and really great kits.
  19. Yes, the CM is a Model Homes.  And I do have this add a room kit!  I bought mine for MUCH less money a few months back on eBay.  I figured I would use is on another Model Homes Kit I have that is smaller than the CM.   Life is going well.  Our Real house is getting the attention it needs (new roof, foundation work, and new exterior painting soon).  So that has kept me busy.  But things are settling down some and I am getting back to my minis!
  20. I have been doing some cleaning and decided I won't be doing these two projects.  I have them listing on eBay, but have not had any interest, so I thought someone on the forum might be interested.  If so, let me know and I can end the auction and sell at a forum discount so I know they are going to someone who will appreciate them
  21. What's everyone working on?

I am back!  I just started getting back on the forum and seeing what everyone else is working on.  During the work progress on the real house and I was unable to work on the Cape May, so I started the Vineyard Cottage.  It is coming along, but I haven't touched it in 3 weeks   I need to get back to it and post new pictures in the album.  I have the exterior almost shingled and will be ready to paint it soon.  But now the craft room, in the real house, is done and I can get back to the Cape May!  And just the other day I stumbled upon a complete set of the Goebel Mini Stuart Library set!  I snapped it up in a heartbeat.  Now I know what to do with that wine case I have been holding onto for 5 years!  So many projects are now pulling me in so many directions.  I guess it is a good "problem" to have
  22. Victorian lighting

Try Heidi Ott miniatures in the UK.  They have some great Victorian lighting that is affordable.  You can find their stuff on eBay from US sellers and some on-line stores carry their products.  Not sure what you budget is, but Ray Storey is a great source along with Mr K, and Lighting Bug.  They all can be pricey, but I have been able to find some bargains on eBay.

This is the Skilcraft Country Manor!  A great buy!  I have it in my stash, but paid more than $20 for the kit!

I wouldn't be surprised if this is the same person who I emailed about a month ago from CL.  For the price of the house, and saying it was a death . . . .
  25. Ebay, Etsy & Craig's List Links

They used the same windows, doors and laser cut baluster I am using on the Cape May.  Good Taste!  It is a nice build!
