If it's an iPad, you may be able to print the screen by using these instructions: http://www.tabletpcexpert.co.uk/how-to/print-screen-using-ipad/ Pretty much, you hold the power key and home button at the same time. Then you can forward the photo to your desktop and print.

This wasn't a dollhouse, but on Million Dollar Listing NY, one of the realtors commissioned a scale replica of the condo building he was selling. The model was all basic wood and glass for windows, but no extra details besides some little trees and grass. Anyway, it cost $100,000! Had me thinking I should get into the model business. I also use my iPhone and iPad as it's more convenient to upload on the internet or send through email. Unfortunately, the camera quality isn't too great. The auto-enhance, HDR setting, and photo editing apps do help out a lot.

I definitely vote for some form of stairs, whether illusion or a staircase. Depending on the style, you could do a spiral staircase to save space. Or, and this is very out-of-the-box, an "elevator" if your house is bigger.

You should bash the Westville to include a bathroom because that would bother me also. The Lily is a great kit because it looks impressive, but isn't overpowering size-wise. You could always enter the HBS Creatin Contest. This year its a decent size with a lot of possibilities.

Thanks for mentioning me !!! And taking notice that I try to be extremely thrifty. As for furnishing on a budget, there are a few things I would suggest. First, and because this is a Greenleaf forum, the 6-room furniture kit set from Greenleaf is about $40 (found here on Amazon http://www.amazon.com/Greenleaf-Doll-Houses-Furniture-assembly/dp/B001JK1LR6/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1358286349&sr=8-5&keywords=greenleaf+dollhouse+kit, or check eBay). Now, you're going to have to get a little creative in how you finish the pieces to make them more realistic, which will require adding some materials (e.g., fabrics, small wooden embellishments, paints/finishes. etc), but it can be done. And $40 is what only one piece of dollhouse funriture can cost sometimes. Each room kit is availabile for only $8.50 through the Greenleaf store. Another suggestion is to buy some mat board and/or hobby wood and wing it! Start with easier projects that are mostly made up of square shapes (like a simple bookcase), and eventually you'll be confident to make more elaborate pieces. This is random, but on my last trip to Michael's a few days ago, I found these 1:12 scale unfinished wooden cabinets for only $.99 a piece. Of course I can't find them anywhere online, but they were in the unfinished wood section of the store and the product sticker reads "ArtMinds Wood Cabinets." Eventually I plan on blogging how to refinish these, but that's neither here nor there. Anyway, take a look through the unfinished wood crafts section of your local craft store for other finds as well. Miniature-making is a wonderful artform, but not for all. And there are a lot of unfortunate people out there who have no use for their miniatures and sell them for very little money. Check constantly because when you find something, it's extra special. My biggest suggestion is to make your own. You can do A LOT with just your printer, computer, and paper. Hope this helps.

I resort to buying most of my wood from Michael's because it's all I have closeby. Their hobby wood can add up in the cost department especially when you need a bunch of pieces. I've been lucky to find a big pack of round wooden dowels for $.99 at Wal-Mart when normally one wooden dowel the same size would cost me close to that at Michael's.
