I've used them in a half scale house in the kitchen and on a fireplace. I didn't grout mine. I think the tiles are great. As mine were the small ones they were not that easy to cut I had to have hubby use his bench grinder.

Half Scale San Francisco Row House
Images added to a gallery album owned by Smallscale in Members' Gallery
I fell in love with the Half Scale Queen Anne by American Craft Products. I spotted one on eBay as the company that made this house is now out of business. I missed out on winning it by a few dollars. So...This is my attempt at a scratch built half scale San Francisco Row House. -

View looking down from above into the entry way. Imagine a banister and being able to look down into the foyer. -

How did you cut down a HW staircase for a Fairfield?
Smallscale replied to raspberry's topic in Greenleaf Dollhouses
For my Fairfield my husband cut them on his mitre saw . He cut from the underside to the front to avoid splinters. http://www.greenleafdollhouses.com/forum/index.php?app=gallery&image=62408 See my gallery -
You could spray it with a mat sealer to tone down the glossy finish.
