I believed I asked this before, but now that I came back to this site, I would like to know how I start an album and post pictures to the gallery. Would someone be so kind to provide me with step by step instructions? Thank you.

On second look, I believe your house is an older version of mine, because yours has a winding staircase and a divider in the attic. That was the display model and the house I thought I was purchasing. However, Model Homes changed the kit for whatever reason, and I got a straight staircase and a full attic instead. When I expressed disappointment, the owner of the hobby store said I could take the display model and replace it with my finished house; but since my father was building the house for me, it had sentimental value. Besides, I got very attached to it during the building process.

I don't think this is a Duracraft house, as I believe I have the same model. Mine is the Country House manufactured by Model Homes in the late 1970's. The company has since gone out of business, but it could have sold out to Duracraft for all I know. This house looks almost exactly like mine did before I had it professionally renovated. I will try to post some before and after pictures in the gallery. Good luck with your new home. It looks like it is in much better condition than mine was before the renovations, so I am sure this will turn out just fine.

Mike, I also do not consider you a whiner, and I appreciate your sharing your situation with us. I certainly understand that your health comes first and foremost, but at trying times, you need some sort of outlet. Therefore, you don't have to leave. You can check in here as little or as often as you want, and you don't owe anybody an explanation as to why you need to put your hobby aside or cannot comment as often as you would like. If looking at other people's projects helps you relax or puts you in a good mood, then by all means stay with us. Whatever you decide to do, just know you are in our thoughts and prayers.

I remember Dr. Ruth from the early 80s when her radio show was popular, and I also remember that she had a dollhouse. I saw it when she was interviewed on TV. She led the camera crew to her Victorian dollhouse and showed us a miniature water bed. She said they didn't have water beds in those days, but they did have good sex. I too found the article interesting, and I am very moved by the fact that she gave her then only doll to another little girl whom she felt needed it more. At the time she was only a child herself, and her whole world was changing. I wish the article showed more pictures of her dollhouses.

Throwing in the towel...errr....paint brush
Aquarius1 replied to LoriAnn Miniatures's topic in General Mini Talk
Of course I stare at my dollhouses for hours. I thought that was the purpose of having a dollhouse. The more you stare at it, the more in tune you are to its needs and its occupants' needs, and that can quiet the voices in my head. Besides, it keeps me out of the refrigerator. -

Great quote for the the likes of us!

Cheryl, I know exactly what you mean. I like the fact that my dollhouses stay neater than my real life house.
