An unexpected highlight in a drooling day...
JustCallMeAnna replied to JustCallMeAnna's topic in General Mini Talk
I think Holly is right. It looked like a ditty bag to me as well. It wasn't a painting, it's a picture. Maybe a view they have at another vacation house somewhere else? Or a view they like somewhere else... I don't know, but I think it's an insanely creative idea. This little surprise was a great end to my job... I quit it today! This girl is back down to two jobs... I'm anticipating getting back some family time... and some of my mini time!!! -
An unexpected highlight in my drooling day came in a mini-way! I've been a little absent for a while, picked up a third job, so I've got time for nothing but sleep. While working my second job (housekeeping for one of the island rental agencies) and becoming more and more enraged over pet fur; I discovered TWO shadowboxes/ room boxes. I haven't seen anything so delightful (mini) in any of the homes I've cleaned. I just had to share...

Do you sell your dollhouses?
JustCallMeAnna replied to HotPinkGlitterSparkle's topic in General Mini Talk
I recently (this past Friday!) found a lady that has offered to put my Beachside Bungalow in her store (free of charge, oh what a blessing) so that I can fund my efforts to continue building for the foster home that fostered my father. Whether or not it sells, is yet to be determined. -
The shape reminds me of one of the little quarter machine eggs (not the normal size ones), wrapped in jute or raffia!

The DC Bellingham Farmhouse that I got to rehab later has MDF and the thinner wood. I think you could probably pull off a bash of the two... lots of houses that they're throwing up down here on the island have two different kinds of siding going on.

Welcome!!! Looking forward to seeing all that you've built! Everyone here is so very helpful!

After work (and before the boys got home from school!) I managed to get a second coat of paint on the house!!! I feel like maybe I'm oversharing progress on the house... But I'm so excited!!! It's starting to look like something great! -

Picked up from a Craigslist ad (three hours away), biggest $60 dollhouse I've ever bought. Sure it's in desperate need of some love and attention, but oh my goodness is it a beauty! -

The house has spoken! All white trim it will be! First coat going on, looks great against the white primed trim. -

Got that bottom right hand corner of the house back together. While taking it apart to move the door from the left side of the wall to the right side... I thought to myself "who wants that large of a window in their half bath?!" Then my mind darted to the fact that the half bath would be big enough to be a full bath, something I don't want. And then, idea!!! I took out the top wall on the tower! No windows in it! It's the same size as the tower, so that would eliminate that awkward side bit of balcony, it would widen my wrap around porch! Awesomeness! -

Soooo, I was just dying to see some color on the house. I painted the tower, 'cause it's so much easier to handle. The great color scheme that I had planned... and now the house is yelling at me "NO NO NO!!! WHITE TRIM!"... I've tried ignoring it for two days now. I keep telling myself that once I paint the rest and do the other colors that it'll be Beach Victorian! But the house is being mean... Should I listen to it??? -

I got my Beachside at Hobby Lobby with said 40% coupon and it was awesome! And judging from your sketch, why pay extra for what you're going to chop off?
