I used real slate shingles on this one of the two. NEVER AGAIN. IT was so brittle and hard to cut. I have broken so many since installing them on the house. The second house will use fake slate tiles from the UK I can actually cut with scissors!

So I am going very dark with this house. I found one in the Roger Moss book A Century of Color. I need to upload the inspiration picture. The trim will be a very dark green and window sashes will be black.

I am making the house a Stick Style, so am adding vertical boards on the tower running with the windows. On either side of the vertical boards will be clapboard.
Beacon Quick Grip Glue is my best friend at the moment. It holds the siding and strips in place in very little time. I can move forward quickly to the next section.

The original flier that came with the kit, showing the various ways to build. I also have the original hand written sales ticket.

More test fitting. I want to make sure I get the bricks on the sides to match correctly.

Top view of the box. I do not this I will leave this open (it comes with a plexiglass panel).

I found these doors online from the UK. I am switching the doors out of the frames so I have the correct French Quarter French Doors for the box.

Preliminary fitting of the new door. and checking the brick work.

I found these laser cut gates from DollsHouseDirect on Etsy and love them. They have some great "iron" fencing and balcony rails.

I think the bay window is a Carlson brand. I have used one before, and have another in my stash. If it is a Carlson, it should have a small 3-sided sloped roof. They pop up now and again on eBay.

The window was a find on eBay a few years ago. It was from a NAME convention. I have another one in my stash of different colors. The colors in this one were perfect for this project. Along with the holes in it, so was more fitting for a bit of a shabby witch's cottage.

I love how we do smoke and mirrors! The plastic glass insert on this door was scratched. So I took my xacto knife and made more "cracks" in the window. I really like how it turned out.

So glad you got it! I was the one who identified it on the eBay forum from an old Miniatures Catalog. I am envious!

That is Oswald. He is a BIG cat. He would fill this build up quick if he tried to get into it. He is very curious every time I sit down to work on it.

Glass inserts courtesy of PoppetsDollyBits on Etsy. she was excellent to work with!

Thanks! The stained glass panels came from a seller on Etsy - PoppetsDollyBits. She worked with me on the sizes and the fit perfect!

Thanks! It was a lot of work and time, but I am really pleased! It gets me excited about getting them on the house!

Thanks! I am trying to get both of these bashed kits finished so I can clear out some of my "in progress" projects. 😁
