I love the blue clamps in that kit you're looking at. I have multiple kinds of clamps, and those are the easiest to use. Regarding my favorite tool, it's the Easy Cutter. It's very helpful for cutting trims. I used to use a miter saw like you see in that kit also, but now I use this instead: http://shop.hobbylobby.com/products/easy-cutter-ultimate-262444/I got it at HL with the 40% off coupon.

Yes, if you're talking about the mansard roof pieces, mine were a bit cra cra, so I cut them a bit. I agree with KathieB -- the front opening would be difficult. I can't really see how it would work. But I bet you COULD do it if really want to and put your mind to it! ;)
