Hello, all! I'd like to invite you to come to Nebraska State Day 2016, which is put on by the Omaha-Council Bluffs Miniature Guild. It's a really fun event (I'm a member of the guild and have gone for the past 3 years) where you make a mini build in one day. There are sales tables, raffles, food, and lots of wonderful minis. If you're interested, here is the information on our OCBMG blog: http://ocbmg.blogspot.com/2015/10/nebraska-state-day-2016-sign-up-info.html
Last year, we had 32 participants from 8 states, so everyone is welcome -- this is NOT a NAME-only event.

Well, it took a while, but I'm all finished with Luna Lair. Here's the link to my gallery: http://www.greenleafdollhouses.com/forum/?app=gallery&module=gallery&controller=view&id=114935
I didn't have a lot of time to upload pictures, so if you want to see the innards better, you can peek at my blog here: http://www.talesfromclarkstreet.blogspot.com/2015/10/presenting-luna-lair.html
On to the next thing! Phew!

I'm so glad you had a good time! Thank you for coming!!!! I'll ask about the screen material at our next guild meeting.

Grazhina, you've always been so good to us with sales and discounts. Thank you!!! I love my items from NEM and will always think of you when I see them. Best of luck with all new things on the horizon.
(And yes, I did shop! Yay!)

No error. They're supposed to be that way. I remember them being different sizes than the downstairs windows. Here's a picture of the second floor internal windows: http://www.greenleafdollhouses.com/forum/index.php?app=gallery&image=95789

Oddly, Ollie will have a front door. That should help with any strange weather. Just shut the door.

You'll be fine!! Many of the houses I've build are super flimsy and difficult in dry fit and then rock solid when I glue them. I've also had warped pieces or misaligned parts. Don't be afraid to cut off a tab if it doesn't fit in the slot and just glue it together that way. I understand about the perfectionism. I'm really hard on myself when my house looks a little wonk. I get scared to work on it. But over time, I've learned to keep going and that I'm always learning, which is the really important part. The more you do and mess up and fix and figure out, the better you'll become at your craft.

The window and door trim has been added. Ollie hooted his approval. Kinda. http://www.greenleafdollhouses.com/forum/index.php?app=gallery&image=111336

I love the blue clamps in that kit you're looking at. I have multiple kinds of clamps, and those are the easiest to use.
Regarding my favorite tool, it's the Easy Cutter. It's very helpful for cutting trims. I used to use a miter saw like you see in that kit also, but now I use this instead: http://shop.hobbylobby.com/products/easy-cutter-ultimate-262444/I got it at HL with the 40% off coupon.

Ollie has floors IN! Now if he could just get his builder to stop stalling on painting all of that white trim.... GEEEZ, BUILDER.

Oh dear. I haven't gotten to the window sills yet, so I can't help. Hmmm. Perhaps another BH builder will be able to help you. In the meantime, my suggestion is to go with your gut. Does it look right? Does it look the way you like it? If so, it's perfect. ;)

Yes, if you're talking about the mansard roof pieces, mine were a bit cra cra, so I cut them a bit. Here's a pic to show how much I cut off: http://www.greenleafdollhouses.com/forum/index.php?app=gallery&image=86292Then the pieces stayed fit, but I had to do a lot of taping to keep them there while the glue dried: http://www.greenleafdollhouses.com/forum/index.php?app=gallery&image=86296.
I hope this is the right part that you're talking about... ?

Thanks, everyone!!!!

I agree with KathieB -- the front opening would be difficult. I can't really see how it would work. But I bet you COULD do it if really want to and put your mind to it! ;)

Oh dear. If Ollie sees you've done two of these half scale buttercups while I've been lollygagging around, he'll clunk me on the head.
*ducks*
Well done -- it looks GREAT!

For some reason, I found the beginning of the siding to be super relaxing, but toward the end, I thought: GOOD LORD HOW MUCH SIDING CAN ONE HOUSE TAKE?!?!?!?!?!?
The BH is such a beast! But we love her.

Yes, the BH kitchen is quite small compared to other houses. But don't forget that you can make the kitchen be in any room you want! ;)

I'm finding myself looking at small boxes in a whole new way. I've seen many interesting things that have been built with the tiny train people.
