  1. Connie. I am assuming these are feaux marble? What I mean is, are they solid, or a material that could be cut with scissors. I ask because I wondered if they could easily be cut to fit the room, like around the staircase, into the bay window, etc. Girt Timothy's room is done in Nascar, and these would look amazing in there.
  2. These rooms are just gorgeous! Mine are all plain Jane. The only one that has anything on the walls besides paint is the beachhouse, and that's because it came that way. I really need to hire an interior dollhouse decorator... Great thread. Keep them coming! ~J
  3. Thanks uppitycats. Love your nick, BTW. I don't generally use the hot glue gun except for when I need to glue material together (which I was doing when I burnt my arm), as I am useless at sewing. I had decided to use the glue gun for the pool light, as every other attempt at getting it to stay up there had failed. I tried those tiny hooks that you screw into the wood, but apparently I don't have the talent for that. lol Which glue works for things like this? Like fairly heavy things like lights, shelves, etc. on walls and ceilings? I wanted something that would dry fast so I didn't have to sit there and hold the thing up. I normally just use the poster tack, or whatever it is called, for pictures and curtains and such so that I can easily remove it later if I want to move or change something. About the MS, I was only recently diagnosed, January 3rd in fact, but for the past 13 years I was misdiagnosed with everything under the sun including lupus, polymyalgia rheumatica, Lyme disease, and depression. I finally had had enough of my useless PCP not listening to me and demanded he send me to a specialist. That's when I finally got my first MRI, back in June, which showed 18 lesions on my brain. I've had three more MRIs since then, the last one yesterday, to see if the Copaxone they started me on is working. I sure wish I knew what to expect. My neurologist is WAY to busy to answer all of my questions. I don't see him again until July. I do, however, have a fantastic new PCP who has been wonderful! I will see him again on Monday to discuss my MRI and also talk about applying for disability, as I can no longer work two days in a row without getting to exhausted to work the third day. I was having to take far too much time off work and was probably in jeopardy of losing my job, although my boss has been really amazing about the whole thing. Anyway, enough about that. Any advice, whether it be about dollhouses or MS, would be greatly appreciated! Both are very new to me. ~J
  4. OMG it's gorgeous!!! So delicate looking. ~J
  5. Fortunately I got my hand away before it landed. I also managed to get the glue gun out of the dollhouse in time, so there is a glob of glue stuck to my carpet rather than to my miniature pool table. Nothing a pair of scissors can't fix. ~J
  6. So there I was, patiently trying to glue the pool light to the ceiling in the game room, and when a glob of hot glue started to fall, I automatically put my hand out to catch it... I know...I should have that stupid glue gun taken away. Last time I tried to use it I burned a chunk out of my left arm. Since I have MS, I have a lot of random numbness, and that particular time I had laid my arm on the glue gun and didn't realize it. I also seem to have lost my common sense. Anyway, when I realized what I was doing, I quickly pulled my hand away, jerking my body so bad that I crashed my knee into the side of the dollhouse. Mind you, this is a four-story Victorian loaded with miniatures, none of which are glued down because I like to move things around when the mood hits me. So I'm sure it registered on the richter scale as a good 7.5 or so. I'm surprised I didn't find Dolly up in the tower clinging to her son Girt Timothy for dear life, convinced that the world was coming to an end. UGH! The dark side of this hobby... ~Jlynn

I love it!!!!! Great find! I can't wait to see the finished product. ~J
  12. How clever! If you don't mind, I would like to borrow this idea for my dollhouses. Jody
  13. I like number 2 also. The blue in the bedspread really brings out the blue in the stripes. J
  14. Hmmm...it is really nice, but to me it just doesn't seem to go with the furniture. The pattern in the rug is all straight lines, and the gorgeous furniture has all of those carvings and curves. Maybe if the rug itself was oval to mimic the oval coffee table? Or perhaps the medallions could be more oval? Unless they are supposed to be the shape they are. Jody I should add that I meant the rug that is currently in the room. The red and gold rug above looks like it might have enough swirls to mimic the carvings and such. It is gorgeous!
  15. Ah, the Tudor! That's it! Except mine is a mirror image of the one in the picture, or maybe the picture is just flipped! Anyway, thanks! Jody
