  1. I'm going to post some pics soon! My husband intentionally left it very unfinished, so I wanted to make a little progress on it, just so it's clear what it represents.

    radio room

From the album: Mice are Nice!

little mouse is from Etsy. He looks cozy in his little reading room, built inside an antique-replica radio
  3. My husband's Christmas surprise to me is a FRIENDS dollhouse! It's actually more like a very big roombox, with Monica's apartment on one side and Central Perk on the other side. It's unfinished, because he knew I'd want to do as much of it myself as possible, but he did paint the walls in Monica's apartment the perfect shade of purple. I will post pictures of it soon, but I couldn't wait to share my good news with all of you. Please post any suggestions or links that you think would be good as I start working on my latest project.
  4. Found this cute little guy today on clearance at Joann's. There was a giraffe too but I couldn't think of a project for it.

    Harry Potter House

My wonderful bf found a dollhouse at Goodwill one day for $4.99. When i walked into the house that day after work, this beauty was waiting for me on the table. It's a tudor style, and I knew instantly it was going to be a Harry Potter-inspired house. I am in the process now of transforming it into a wizard shop, like one would find in Diagon Alley.
  6. I'm located in NH too. I went to the AC Moore in Salem on Black Friday and was very disappointed. Not only were there no great deals/sales, but I did not see any dollhouses in there. Years ago at an AC Moore in Maryland I bought my lighthouse, already assembled and wired because it was the display model and they were getting rid of it.
  7. I've been working on this little roombox (actually inside a little suitcase-type box) off and on for a few months. It's not my typical style, but I wanted to try something new. It has kind of a Southwest-llama theme. I like how it looks so far, but I feel like it needs more accessories. I don't want anything super-modern like a laptop but I did order an old-fashioned looking alarm clock for the nightstand. I also think it needs a (non-working_ lamp but I cant find one that fits into the theme well. What would you add to this scene?
  8. From the album: Harry Potter House

I found this little plastic scarf in a bin at Goodwill Buy the Pound- def seems to be HP. Maybe it's from a HP Lego set? It was the perfect size for Dobby!

is now hidden in the attic of the bookstore
  11. I used this product yesterday, and I was pleasantly surprised how mirror-like it was. It's still not as good as a glass mirror obviously, but it does reflect images rather than just appear silver and shiny https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0044S5KFE/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

    stein

    From the album: Santa's House

is a mini ornament from Hallmark. It's a little larger than 1:12 scale, but I still like it
  14. Was just browsing around online and spotted this https://www.hottopic.com/product/game-of-thrones-iron-throne-metal-model-kit/11920192.html#q=miniature&sz=60&start=66
  15. I love the Hallmark ornaments because they are high quality items at a much more reasonable price that hand-crafted mini's. Of course I understand why artisan items cost more $, but sometimes you're just looking for little items to 'fill in the gaps', or you have a special themed scene. They're not always perfectly to scale, but I'm not super picky and sometimes scales can be mixed if your scene/story already plays with sizes (like my Harry Potter dh), and you can also force a perspective if you put certain items in the background or foreground.
  16. I received the bookshop one as a gift and built it over the summer: https://www.amazon.com/DIY-Wooden-Puzzle-Miniature-House/dp/B07BYYYJ9X/ref=sr_1_39?keywords=miniature+book+shop&qid=1572310093&sr=8-39 I was pleasantly surprised to see the nice quality of the materials, and I'd say it was about 1:24 scale. I've been tempted to do another. . .maybe next summer
  17. There's also a really cute Fisher-Price schoolhouse toy! https://www.amazon.com/Hallmark-Keepsake-Christmas-Ornaments-Fisher-Price/dp/B07NDH6ZYL/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=hallmark+miniature+ornament+schoolhouse&qid=1572278748&sr=8-1
  18. whoops! I put the wrong link for the Mickey mouse nutcracker. here it is: https://www.amazon.com/Hallmark-Keepsake-Christmas-Nutcracker-Miniature/dp/B07NDJGH6Q/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=mickey+mouse+nutcracker+hallmark+ornament&qid=1572217097&s=home-garden&sr=1-1 The beer stein that I saw in the store was pretty tiny, so I think it could work
  19. I stopped at my local Hallmark store today to scope out the ornaments for this year. There are a couple mini ornaments I have my eye on: a little beer stein, for my Santa house: https://www.amazon.com/Hallmark-Keepsake-Ornament-Beer-Stein/dp/B07NDFMZ91/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=hallmark+miniature+ornament+2019+stein&qid=1572209295&sr=8-1 a tiny margarita, for the Lilo and Stitch Surf shop: https://www.amazon.com/Hallmark-Keepsake-Christmas-Margarita-Miniature/dp/B07NDGLZTB/ref=asc_df_B07NDGLZTB/?tag=&linkCode=df0&hvadid=366288748717&hvpos=1o1&hvnetw=g&hvrand=11950265551676046060&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9002278&hvtargid=pla-804423583889&ref=&adgrpid=71496086370&th=1 a Mickey Mouse nutcracker. I don't know what house I'd put it in, but it's adorable: https://www.amazon.com/Hallmark-Keepsake-Christmas-Margarita-Miniature/dp/B07NDGLZTB/ref=asc_df_B07NDGLZTB/?tag=&linkCode=df0&hvadid=366288748717&hvpos=1o1&hvnetw=g&hvrand=11950265551676046060&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9002278&hvtargid=pla-804423583889&ref=&adgrpid=71496086370&th=1 and the vintage arcade game would be perfect for Pee Wee Herman's house: https://www.amazon.com/Hallmark-Keepsake-Christmas-Ornament-Defender/dp/B07NDGXTPZ/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=hallmark+2019+arcade&qid=1572209455&s=home-garden&sr=1-1
