  1. Mine is not completed yet, but I'm getting there: http://www.xs4all.nl/~takoda/Mercantile.html
  2. Makes me wonder which witches are witches and which witches are witches...
  3. I do have a reason not to buy more houses. In fact, I have several reasons. Ten of them are incomplete Greenleaf houses. (The other ten being incomplete other projects... LOL!!!)
  4. Congratulations. That's such a neat house!! I've been looking at the box top, and it scares me - I just can't seem to get my houses to look crooked or dirty or old... <sigh> I already have a family for the Haunted House. They're all in white porcelain. So I'm wondering whether they should be ghosts, or maybe vampires??? I sort of like the idea of vampires... LOL!! Do you have plans for yours yet???
  5. Ooo, I have an Emerson, too. I just love that house. I started it last year before we moved and since then I haven't worked on it at all. Here it is, by the way: http://www.xs4all.nl/~takoda/Emerson.html A brownstone sounds good. I'm thinking along the lines of a faded "painted lady" sort of look. Mine will be a bar at the... ehmmm... 'shady' side of town... LOL!!!
  6. I added myself as well... I was number 101, it's a shame really to ruin that nice, round number...

I get them too. Like Tracy, I get them from PayPal or eBay on addresses that are not registered there... I get them from banks, too. Even from Dutch banks, which is pretty funny, as no Dutch bank would send Dutch customers an e-mail in English. I think they just randomly change the name of the bank in some sort of standard-fraud-form they have. ;) Don't go to the page the e-mail directs you to - if you must check, go to your account on a separate browser page and log in like you normally would. The link in the e-mail usually leads to some clever forgery of the home page. If there really is a problem, your log-in page would tell you when you log in normally.
  8. There's a whole world of mini stuff out there, both ready-made and in kit form. I'd recommend going to Hobby Builders' Supply ( http://www.miniatures.com ) and ask for their catalogue so you have some idea of what's available out there. <_< Good luck building your Pierce, it's a lovely house!
  9. Welcome, Wilma. Looking forward to seeing your houses! I've got an Emmerson Row, too, but haven't done much lately. Karin
  10. None of my family are into dollhouses. My grandfather liked to build scale models of carts (baker's, ice cream vendors, etc...) when he was younger. My grandmother loved to dress dolls in knitted clothes - I still have some of these, actually. My father used to have a ship model (a huge one), so I think at least his side of the family thinks dollhouses are quite normal. My mother's side of the family probably wouldn't understand, but they're such boring people I hardly ever see them. ;) The reaction I hate most when people see my minis is saying that they're 'such dust traps'... <sigh>
  11. I work mostly in 1" scale. I do have a Fairfield, and I would definitely buy the Victorianna if and when it is released. If I would start now, I would start in 1/2" scale. I guess the only reason I'm sticking to 1" scale is that I still have about 8 kits to finish.
  12. Ever tried IrfanView? You can download it free ( at http://www.irfanview.com ) It's a very simple program for editing pictures, it has a 'gamma correction' to take care of the darkness problem and you can fiddle with the colours. Now the cell phone is a different problem - I still haven't figured out how mine works, and it's an obsolete model with 'very few features' - I'd hate to have to get used to a new one with 'all the latest' Karin
  13. Thanks everyone, I'm glad I didn't imagine it. I keep finding new 'surprises' on eBay, too, which is why I got curious. Wouldn't it be something if they brought back everything they ever made?
