Just reading the stuff here is making me feel creepy, and I don't usually mind the regular run-of-the-mill house spiders we get.

Spiders and other bugs also tend to come inside when it gets cold outside.

Thanks, Holly. I did find those and bought several, as well as some others. My biggest problem was finding suitable paper. I finally ended up getting some sheets that look like ice with blade marks through it, as well as a darker blue paper that says hockey on it. Other than that, I will probably just use colour co-ordinated cardstock for the background for the photos. Most of the paper suppliers are American, and I guess that hockey is just not as popular as other sports such as basketball and football, so there are very limited supplies available.

I hear several of you taking about doing your taxes, and it reminds me of a big difference in systems. Here in Canada, it is way too early to do taxes. The tax year ends December 31st, so employers only give you your tax slip by the end of January, and you have until the end of February to put money away in a retirement plan for the previous tax year. Also, you only have to file by April 30th! So, I am at least a month away from having to deal with all that tax stuff.

Our very snowy conditions from yesterday are gone, but it is very cold today with temperatures about 1oF, plus windchill. However, I did manage a trip to two different Michael's and another craft store called 'multi crafts & gifts'. I bought a bunch of scrapbook paper and stickers, but this time it was to make a scrapbook to commemorate this year in hockey for my 10 year old son's team (each child will get a copy). Not much hockey stuff around, but I managed to find what I hope is enough. So, pretty much all mini's are on hold until the scrapbook is finished.

Oh Muriel, I do hope they let you have the pump. DS#2 has been a diabetic for just over one year, which is a requirement for the pump, so I am hoping that they will be taking to him about it on one of the next couple of appointments. Right now, he uses needles in the morning and insulin pens at supper and bedtime.

I got sucked into e-bay with another hobby (stamp collecting). It was such fun to see the packages arrive from all over. I have bought a few things off the site since then, but now I try and just stay away from it and not even think about it or I would end up spending too much.

Since we have had an installer replacing our kitchen/eating room vinyl flooring for the past two days, I have had our budgie upstairs in our bedroom so that she is away from the dust and smells. The floor is now done :lol: so I will bring her back down in the morning.

From what I understand, although warm temperatures can make you sleepy (think siesta/afternoon rest in Mexico and the like), for you to sleep properly, your body has to cool down by several degrees F. If I understand correctly, it is so that you can go into a type of mini-hibernation state where your breathing and heart rate slow down. That is why it is recommended to have the bedroom a few degrees cooler at night.

I agree, way more exciting! Thanks, Muriel. Life is finally starting to settle down for us after two weeks of rush visits to dr's and ER's for me and my daughter. I'm getting better and she saw a specialist yesterday and should be on a slow road to recovery as her body gets pushed back to normal. However, if you didn't know she had problems, you would not be able to tell as she still goes to school and all that stuff.

My kids like the "Disney Silly Songs", but I think that they have one of quieter songs also.

Just like I suspected, he stopped at a friend's on the way home and they lost track of time playing soccer on the PS3. At least he came home safe and sound.

Your quesadillas sound wonderful, Heidi. I often order cheese ones when I go out to the restauraunt if I don't know what to eat. Everyone is pretty much on their own here tonight. DS#2 went to a friend's for dinner while I was out with DD, DH is away because of work, and DS#1 is not home yet from his exam, so he must have stopped at a friend's house on the way home. Not like him to still be out at this hour. I hope that he gets home soon.

Just spending the afternoon/evening playing on my computer and watching the AFC and NFC championship games to see who will go to the Superbowl.
