I love working in 1/144th scale...but I haven't found any patterns . What I've done is purchased a small kit, then made a copy before building it and gone from there. Maybe that would work for you, too?

An ebay seller - username "nobleday" used to sell some really nice blown glass balloons...don't know if she still has them. Here's a pic of one with one of my needlefelted bears (first pic on the page): http://tiny.cc/TB82H

Well, if you're going to hang it on the wall...that's what flat screens look like anyway...a big mural, especially without a stand I wonder - if you curved it out from the wall just a little if that would give it more dimension and make it look less like a picture. Just a thought. Jen...that's a nice TV!

Sherry...some hardware stores sell copper rods (I know Ace Hardware carries them). I think they are used for soldering pipes and are usually in the plumbing section. You can get the rods in different lengths and some are hollow and some are solid. All are small diameter and I think would work well for what you are trying to do.

Happy day! Congratulations!!!!!!! Good DH ya got there! He's a keeper

Oh...a sad time! I bawled my eyes out when I sold my Victorian (the only large house I had). Now all I have are 144th scale. More room for them, but >>>sigh<<<not quite the same.

How precious! And you say these are your first needlefelted pieces? Yikes...you are good already!

I don't know if we are allowed to post selling sites here? If not, I'm sure the moderators will snick this, lol! But here's a whole bunch of miniature food! http://www.cdhm.org/miniatures/food.php Have fun shopping! Hugz, Pat

I just finished a 144th scale dollhouse...talk about SMALL shingles! I swore I would never follow the instructions for making that house again...they said to put the dormers on, THEN the shingles. NOT! Next time I'm putting the shingles on before the dormers! Kathie is right tho...with a little practice you'll be able to "eyeball" it and do the cuts just right the first time (or maybe the second ). Another way to do it, which takes some planning ahead, is to make a template of the roof before you put the dormers/gable roofs on. Then you can pretty much use the template to cut the angles - but they'll still have to be trimmed a bit.

Wow, those are cool! I've seen things like these in hobby shops that specialize in stuff for miniature car enthusiasts. And I wonder if even even Walmart (in the U.S.) might have something similar.

Here's a site where you can purchase the paper ones: http://www.minineighbors.com/catalog/item565.asp Also do a search on eBay for "miniature paper doilies". And, if you're ambitious and know how to crochet, here's a PDF file with instructions: tatmantats.files.wordpress.com/2009/04/miniaturedoilies.pdf

Looking great, Grazhina!

I didn't get the email....wahhhh! Oh well, I have enough projects as it is. Andrea...which 1/144th houses did you get?

Thanks for the tip, Holly . I always finish off the landscaping with a healthy amount of sealer (clear glue usually), so the bugs would have to get through that...but ya never know! Especially with the bugs we have here...seems like they will eat anything. I did have a problem with ants once when I was dumb enough to use real sugar for snow...I won't do that again!
