  1. Funny, I've been working on this house the last few days and how much my thought process has both stayed the same in wanting to try new to me techniques -- but also how some of what I tried I just didn't like, like this ceiling...
  2. A Heather by G.E.L., I don't get to see these come up too often anymore: https://orangecounty.craigslist.org/for/d/the-heather-wooden-build-it-yourself/6836762363.html
  3. Hi all, been too long since I popped into to gab dollhouses! While scouring CL for a friend for minis, I've found a few here and there I thought some here may be interested in... First, CA folks -- this one's free: https://slo.craigslist.org/bab/d/los-osos-doll-house/6849706839.html Second one isn't a great price, and the spider decor did nothing for me -- but the house looks familiar to me, and could really be made into something special: https://sandiego.craigslist.org/esd/art/d/la-mesa-victorian-dollhouse/6832649255.html Alright next up is an oldie but goodie, and not a bad price: https://orangecounty.craigslist.org/atq/d/mission-viejo-vintage-wood-dollhouse/6854223980.html Not houses per se, but still interesting: https://ventura.craigslist.org/clt/d/ventura-glass-displays-for-collectibles/6842911420.html
  4. Bill, there is actually a seller on eBay their seller name is Austinnoggles or something along those lines and they offer a number of replacement Dura Craft parts, if they don't already offer what you need they're typically really good at making pieces to help you out.
  5. Not certain if this will work, but if there is anyone that lives near Malvern PA I'm looking at purchasing something -- but need someone near there that can pick it up for me and take it to FedEx for shipping. I just want furniture in a dollhouse, and whomever would pick it up is free to have the house as my gift for picking it up. It looks like a Model Homes house with a Model Homes addition on it, just not what I myself am interested in. If this isn't allowed my apologies right off!
  6. Between dealing with "mistake billing" by one doctor's office and still making appointments with specialists... haven't gotten the chance to do much. Thankfully still have my little A Frame I've been working on finishing up and have set myself the goal of finishing at least one thing a day on it as well as straightening out my shop space. My pup(profile pic) LOVES being a "Shop Yote" as the family in general calls her. lol However, when realizing that due to the resin getting under my base of my cord wood floor, I thought I may be able to plane down the resin and get it level enough to still work with... that didn't go so well as there was someone whom considered himself more of an "expert" and decided he'd take the floor out of my hands and show me how I should just hold it up to the sanding belt. Want to guess how much of the base of that floor was taken off?!? I literally wanted to either cry or rage -- wasn't too certain which direction it was going to go... Anyways, kept my cool and managed to leave the shop and person responsible for making me see a whole different level of work on that floor w/o any fixing of the initial problem. After lots of researching and YouTube video watching on how to polish resin and get the cloudiness to disappear I attempted what I could and still couldn't get it completely clear to just show the black paint I tried putting on the underside to cover the spots that had been sanded down that shouldn't have been. Turned out looking a very splotchy scratched up grey amongst the black of the rest of the floor, so unfortunately after several weeks of planning that floor out and working on it -- I'm having to make a completely new second level floor. To say the least, my relaxation of working on my minis hasn't been so relaxing of late! However, definite bright side here -- I can look at it as practice and my pup has been thoroughly enjoying her increased time out in the shop. Hope everyone elses' mini making has been more relaxing and not so stressful as mine the last few days! :)
  7. Christine, I may actually have a few of those. It's late here and we've been having more of the wilder wild animals around the house of late during the night, so won't be able to check until tomorrow. If I find the 5028's I'm more than glad to message you and let you know what I have.
  8. Welcome Christine! I have an ACP 1:24 scale Queen Anne as well as their 1:12 Ol' Mercantile, can't wait to see pics of your house!

  11. When Sable mentioned her club was looking for some of these the other day it got me to thinking I do have lots of these in duplicate. So, I went ahead and pulled out 20 or so kits that are still in their original plastic wrap and have never been opened. Since her club has been incredibly blessed and gotten themselves taken care of on the kits, I thought I would offer these here, and if there's a kit someone is looking for that I don't have listed -- don't hesitate to PM me I may just have it. Figure it's always good to share with fellow Greenleafer's when we can! I have this one in a box waiting patiently under my work bench in the shop! Have to get the 12 or so projects I've currently got going pared down(read some finished and moved on) so I can get to the ones waiting. Going to look forward going through this album, as I truly have always loved the look of this build!

Scrapbook paper, and went up really well. :)
  15. Thanks guys! Y'all have me blushing! lol

    Various woods

Ah, thank you! Don't know if I'd go so far as that, but I am having fun with this one.
  17. That's similar to what I was dealing with, but at least the pics did upload and finally showed that they did. lol
  18. I finally managed to upload pics of one of my current builds -- and my apologies to all, as I and site were having a few issues. Right now all of my pics for the Half Scale A Frame album are in triplicate I believe, but I promise I have asked Emily to help me by deleting the duplicates! Anyways, that will show where I'm at/going with my first half scale build. I decided to tackle that right before I found my Queen Anne Row House. Have been using this little cabin as a learning experience both in trying out new to me finishes and aging techniques, as well as just making sure I'm getting dimensions and such right for this scale... it has definitely proven interesting every step of the way! lol
  19. From the album: Half Scale A Frame

Quick picture to show original stair hole opening, decided what came with the kit didn't really fit my vision. Working to make a new opening that will fit with my new stairs I'm making...

    Half Scale A Frame

Had forgotten I even had this kit, as I had it stashed under a work bench out in my shop. While on the hunt for materials to use in another build, I stumbled upon a small package wrapped in brown paper... of course I had to unwrap and see what I had -- ended up being a delightful little half scale A Frame. It didn't have instructions with it, but honestly it went together so easily and was labelled so well on all the tabs and slots I had it all completely dry fit in less than 10 minutes. Have yet to find another of these that have been finished, so even though I have chosen to bash and change it a bit -- I wanted to make sure I recorded it here so if anyone else wants to see it built they can find some reference pics!

    Shadow play

From the album: Half Scale A Frame

Just really liked how the shadows were falling over the floors here.

    Various woods

From the album: Half Scale A Frame

Once I am done with this build, I can't help but think I'll sit back and have to take a few to really try and figure up how many types of wood and sources of such that I've used in this, as well as the various finishes. I love how it's all looking together though!
  23. From the album: Half Scale A Frame

Joke of that title, the top had only had the alcohol and India Ink on it for less than a minute! I loved how quick this added weathering/age, and especially loved that b/c it was alcohol based it was literally dry in seconds it seemed!
  24. From the album: Half Scale A Frame

Again, a continuing theme here I find myself loving the play of lights and shadows with-in this build!
  25. From the album: Half Scale A Frame

This is just upright enough to give me an idea of where I need to cut the resin and existing second floor to fit the stairs in properly(I hope!)
