Palazzo di Venezia - HBS Creatin' Contest 2013
Palazzo di Venizia depicts a blend of Renaissance,
Gothic and Moorish styles that Venetian architecture embodies. The land is soft and buildings are constructed from brick with stucco facing, due to weight, stone is used minimaly as ornate carvings on facades. The nearby island
of Murano produces the glass for the arched windows and chandeliers . Since space is limited balconies allow for a breath of air. Wooden beams support the tiled roof, walls are covered in Venetian plaster and frescos. Chimneys are large to prevent fire hazard. Jesters and a minstrel entertain at the masked ball party.
I took the photos in the backgrounds on a trip to the "City of Bridges" in 2006.
Venice is like no other place on earth and my favorite.
My love affair with Venice started in 1984 on my first of 3 trips.

Creatin' Contest 2014 'Seaclusion'
'Seaclusion' was once an old stone boathouse on an estate, nestled in a cove along a New England estuary. The third generation of it's original builder added a craftsman cottage weekend retreat atop the old stone structure. The original boathouse has a 'head' and a sink. Cooking is done on a BBQ or over coals on the beach. The cottages' colors are typical for this region. On the lanes along the water homes have names rather than numbers. The inspiration for this build comes from many wonderful years boating the waters of the Long Island Sound, Martha's Vineyard Block Island and Nantucket.
The house breaks down into 3 sections.

Boys Birthday Party
When not busy making minis; this is what I do every year for my 2 grandsons Birthday party. Their B-days are 3 days apart, so they have one lavish party.
This year it is a Mario & Sonic Olympic party to be held at a sport facility with the guests on one of 7 teams, the kids get shirts with their team color and character based on the Wii game. I make a huge banner every year and this year 7 felt characters (6 inches tall) to go into party table baskets.

My Workroom
It is always fun to see all your work spaces so being mine is about as neat right now as it will ever be... here is where I do most of my work except when I start a new dollhouse. Then I use my dinning room table so I can spread out. My work table and chair are from our 1st kitchen in a studio apartment 44 years ago. How did we ever live in a studio?

Miniature Collector Magazine April 2015
My dollhouse and miniature work has been published in Miniature Collector Magazine April 2015. This is the first time my mini work has been published. It is so nice to know other miniature enthusiasts will be able to see my collections. In my working career as a fashion designer and the decorating of my homes I had received recognition of my work in many magazines. Each dollhouse build took about a year and only my family and friends have seen them. So if you don't subscribe to Miniature Collector you can catch a glimpse here.

Dollhouse Show & Sale Boca Raton 3/14/15
Annual Les Petits Collecteurs of South Florida Dollhouse Miniatures Show & Sale.
It was well worth the one year wait for this local show. The members displayed their 'What's Cooking' creations, room boxes from 1/4 to 1/12th scales. It is such fun to see what they cooked up. I just need to figure out how to download the pics from my cell phone. The photos in this album show my purchases. It was a great day and meeting 2 fellow Greenleafers was a treat.
