  1. Oooooooooooooh, the rug is beauuuuuuuuuuuutiful! It looks like it was worth all the effort you put into it! I think I'll attempt a rug someday. Great inspiration! Thank you for sharing it with us! And those are some great Halmark finds! I'll have to keep my eyes open for things like those.
  2. Deb, I'm very sorry to hear about your husband's heart attack. I'm very glad to he is doing okay, now. I will definitly get some asprin for my purse! You just never know what is going to happen. I know what you mean about not being able to sleep in hospitals, I've never been able to do that either. Catch up on your sleep, now! And have fun on that haunted house. I've had to put mine on the backburner for a couple of weeks while I finish this semester, but I'll be picking it back up very soon.
  3. Peggi, great job on your Pierce! I love personal accents. I have some mini pics in my Arthur as well. I thought I'd put in my $.02 about the mini pics people were asking about: Sometimes when you have pictures made, they include a few tiny pictures that are intended to be used for charms and lockets. These are just the right size for what an 8X10 would be in a 1:12 dollhouse. As for frames, I used little charm bracelet frames and snipped of the little loop on the top. If you don't have any pictures that little, you could always shrink them on you computer and spray them so that they don't fade too quickly. My favorite picture in my little house is picture of my husband and I when we were dating. It sits on my mantel in the living room of my Arthur.
  4. I'm back for a little bit. The semester is almost over, so I've been busy trying to finish papers and tests. I just have three more papers to write and two more test and I'll be done for the holidays and free to spend time online again!
  5. Thank you secret pal for the pretty gift tags and rocking horse ornaments! I got them about a week ago, but I have been so busy with school, I haven't been online in a while. Thank you so much!
  6. Oh what greatidea about the big blocks. We have lots of those! I'll have to give them a try.
  7. Yeah! *throwing handfulls of confetti, too* It looks wornderful! You did a really great job on that Pierce. It is very satisfying when a house turns out that good! Good luck on you haunted house. I'm in the middle of that house right now, too.
  8. Bitsy, that's a great idea. I'm sure Stevi will be looking forward to the summer! That should be a lot of fun!
  9. Let us know how it turns out. I'm curious about the wrapping paper. I have seen some thick paper and I've seen the thicker no-peek paper, too. Most of the wrapping papers I've seen have a glossy look to them. You could try some matte spray to seal it and to take away the glossy look.
  10. My favorite, of course, is iced tea. :o That's a main staple here in Texas. I don't care what brand as long as it is cold and sweet! I don't usually drink coffee, but I have been known to brew up some just to have the smell of it in the kitchen.
  11. Welcome back! I glad everything was okay when you returned. Your Garfield is looking great!
  12. Ah, memories. :o My sister had one of those Mrs. Beasley dolls, and I think she eventually wore out the talking mechanism. I, however, had a huge Raggetty Ann that I always had to have to go to sleep with. Over time, her hair fell out and my grandmother made her a wig of long red hair. I loved it! It think I slept with it every night until I was about twelve. I still have it.
  13. There is no hole in the floor on the Buttercup. If you are adding stairs, you will need to cut one. I think they left it out because it's kind of a small house. The Orchid is a little bigger. The decorative items they are talking about are probably just the ones in the picture. The Buttercup doesn't come with shingles, but the Orchid does.
  14. I put the hat and scarf on my bald butler, too! He's quite cozy.
  15. Woah! I can't believe the level of detail on that little house. Impressive! I also really like the way you changed the upper floors into a loft to make everything easy to see.
  16. Oh, that's a cool idea for ghosts! Very creepy. I love the dirty tub.
  17. Oooo, this sounds very interesting! Will there be a way to view all the entries online when it's all over?
  18. Thank you for sharing that! That was very cool. I loved the pretty music.
  19. Welcome, Bianca! THe Orchid is a very sweet little house. I have put one together and it was fairly simple, but looks great. I think it is wise to start with a small house first. It's far less intimidating and you'll be much more likely to finish it! Let us know how it all goes!
  20. I'd have to say some kind of life. Either people or pets, but there needs to some kind of life in the house.
  21. What Guys from Texas? Anyone close to central Texas? I'd love to go to a class nearby. Link anyone?
  22. I was just thinking that most of the museums I've seen look like roomboxes. Mostly long rectangular rooms with tile floors and muted colors. There are lots of possibilities!
  23. Congrats! I'm sure you will want to thank all of the little people.
  24. I just had a thought. If a very grainy yet uniform look is desired, you could always just get several full sheets of fine sandpaper, paint them and just use them like wallpaper. I think that most sheets are only around a dollar, so that would be a pretty cheap alternative. I haven't tried it, but it might work.
