My 7 yr old daughter loves to build. She has built tons of lego kits, including large kits recommended for 8/10yrs+. Just today she built a midsize set in less than 4 hrs. She has been admiring the doll houses in Hobby Lobby and my in-laws have purchased her a dollhouse kit for Christmas. I believe it is the Vermont Farmhouse kit. She won't get it until we celebrate with family Christmas Eve.
I've done some reading on dollhouses and know that we will be taking this on as a long, slow project. We homeschool so I'm planning to incorporate this into her school week. We are in no hurry and will have a dedicated area for the kit. What glue(s) should we use? Should we be painting the sections before we assemble or should we assemble and then paint/decorate after? Does it matter? What other advice would you offer to a newcomer/first timer?
