I can attest that Kidney Stones is worse than childbirth - I'd actually rather give birth to triplets with no meds than EVER have kidney stones again ....I've had 5 bouts of them - gave up drinking Fresca and increased my water intake and thankfully have not had them again since about 2015... I pray it doesn't change!

Up until now. there have been very few issues with online purchases. 12 scale doesn't always seem quite to proportion, but it works, if not adding a little wimsy, like the world's largest microscope, and 12 inch paperback books. But my last 3 purchases have been disappointing. Color does not match the picture in the description, or the quality is just awful. I don't like to get into returns and back and forth, so I am making do, with the downside being what I thought would take a few hours, or a day at the very most, will take a week minimum. Arg.
Speaking of online buys, I am looking to buy as many as 30 LED lights as pictured (not the battery), but there have been complaints that roughly 30% do not work. The seller replaces them, only to have some of the replacemens also not work, so again with sending more replacements until you have 100% working lights. There are no hobby shops anywhere near me, so I am stuck with online. Thoughts?
Oh, and by the way, there are a few quick scenes of a grand dollhouse in the film 'Miss Potter', 2006, with Renee Zellweger playing the title role of this turn-of-the-century children's author. Currently on Netflix.
I second what Carrie said, CR2S is VERY REPUTABLE and knows exactly how to wire and teaches wiring. Evans Designs is also an amazing source for those lights. Using either one of these will ensure that you aren't stressed out about what you're buying.

The Dallas Showcase is returning after a hiatus, organized by Dani Muckleroy and others. It will feature classes, dealers, and is located at the Crowne Plaza in the Market Center in Dallas.
Yes, correct, it's the Texas Miniature Showcase ....Charles Harville passed away after the Dallas Show in 2023 and after discussion with his widow, Suzan, Dani and I are bringing back the original show, the Texas Miniature Showcase.....the Dallas Miniature Show was the name Charles used after Dani passed the show to him about 6 years ago. Looking forward to having a great show and doing so for many many years to come! Hope you'll join us!

Interesting bash - an Orchid plus a Washington? https://www.ebay.com/itm/386626618694
that actually is an interesting choice of kits to bash, but somehow I think it works!

I’m sure shipping affects this value but starting bid of $10?!
Sadly, there is no guarantee everything is in the box...so starting at $10 would be fair and they have no idea the value it would be to someone if it is complete. For me, if I bought it at $10 and went to pick it up, because I'm 30 minutes away it would be a great deal or a box of scrap wood.

The other house I got from Qbaqtee (I know I'm not spelling that right). It's the large Victorian from American Crafts and I have never even opened the box Susie sent it in. She may have pictures of it in her gallery. As far as I can remember, the wood is primed, but there is no bay window on the front (tower is there, though)or any other windows included and no interior walls. I may be wrong about that, but I'm pretty sure that's the case. If you are wondering what it looks like, you can see this video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IeRH_i_7WoA
I forgot to mention, in the video the ACP dollhouse is shown with a back to it. The kit does have side doors on both sides that can be hinged and come with the house, but there is no back to the kit. It's just open backed. I also forgot to mention that there are no staircases with the ACP house. Now ACP staircases were only 2 1/2 inches wide, unlike the standard staircases today that are 3 inches wide, so whoever buys the ACP house, you will have to wait and find ACP staircases on eBay or just enlarge the stairwells.
Hi! the ACP Victoria is in my gallery, theres no windows in that box, I never had those, but I do have a Carlson staircase kit that fits it I believe in that opening, if you reach out when someone buys it if they want it we can work it out. I'll find the stair kit. It's a huge house and I had put the instructions inside the box. Hope someone takes her on as she's a beautiful house!

Hey! I’d love to see how you’ve created the shingles! I’m trying to update my daughter’s Kidkraft dollhouse, and cannot find any printed vinyl with the look of a shingled roof!
There’s quite a few files on Etsy to purchase for dollhouse shingles that are cuttable on the Cricut - plywood will likely only ruin the blade and cause frustration… the thickest material is chipboard or 2mm basswood and even that is an endeavor and takes lots of time - I shingled a small house using black textured card stock and it came out great and super easy to apply! Best of luck!

I love this kit!!!!

Yet another Elizabeth Anne! This one is Buy It Now, but seems steep considering what the last two have sold for. https://www.ebay.com/itm/374554255315
Maybe they don’t really want to sell it lol

I saw this this morning and am a little surprised at the price - that’s what the house cost in 1992 and it was a never available in kit form … shell only finished or unfinished … I guess if that’s your dream house and you’ve got money to burn …. Wait- that is my dream house … but you won’t find a bid from me lol … hope they get the price they want

I'm sorry if anyone thought I meant that the hood ought to be included in the price of the stove; I was thinking that the hood should be offered with the stove, since they go together. As someone who does make a lot of things from scratch, I appreciate the time & costs (although I bust a** trying to minimize the co$t part, since I'm making things for my own amusement and not for sale).
That is exactly what I thought you meant … but I make a stove and haven’t designed a stove hood I’m happy with yet lol … someday I will

A little pricey, but I like the 50s vibe and it could be repainted. Plus everything opens and there's a rack inside the oven.
19 hours ago, havanaholly said:I just think the hood should come with the stove...j
As a maker of a similar stove, mine is priced at 3 times that and comes with no hood....and takes 3 days to make. This one is I believe 3d printed which still requires cleaning, curing, sanding, painting and sealing - resin averages $30 a bottle and for something this size will use a few ounces if its resin. Some where in there you've got to include the persons time, which has value. And I wont even bring up the cost of the printer and the cost to run it and to replace parts when necessary.
I realize thats why most people make their own. But you wont have one like this unless you buy a machine, learn the machine, get or make a file and then go through all the above to make one. This meme totally applies lol.

I also like https://earthntree.com/miniatures/, they have a good selection ...
Hope this helps
YES!I love Earth N Tree and if you call them they'll look in their store for something specific as everything is not on their site!

miniatures.com probably has the largest online selection of scale miniatures that you can search by room or brand. Prices are subject to quality and material type. If you're looking for one of a kind items you can often find them on Etsy....Ebay is another good source if you're on it frequently or save your searches to be notified. There's a great subject on this forum where members will often place links to items they've sourced and you can go look and purchase or bid .....the best part is have fun!

Welcome Emily ... there's always someone around to help out and extend advice ...not everything works for everyone and thats the best part about this forum ...different perspectives!
Looking forward to seeing your creations!

You think I should go get it? I always wanted a HIghland to make into a Southwest Spanish adobe house. But it'll cost more by the time I get done putting gas in the car there and back. lol
Did you see the shipping on that RGT Queen Anne you posted? How did they expect to ship two boxes for $8.94?
It would definitely be great bones for a Spanish style adobe …. Don’t know how long and how much gas you’d use to make it worth it.

Ooh, I'm tempted by that Golden Gate View and almost made an offer, but the water damage and open box stopped me. They say "all parts seem to be there," but without the instructions to compare it to, how would they know?
EDIT: Okay, I'm helpless. I made a $50 offer with a note to the seller about why I thought it was a risky purchase. I don't really expect it to be accepted, but we'll see...
EDIT2: Haha they countered at $259.99. Nope.
I have this kits well and while I love it, if all the part aren't there ....well, you know. Happy to help with instructions as well.
