LOL! Very macabre....one minute you're enjoying lemonade on the porch, the next minute you lose your head in an awful turkey carving accident.

I use viscose for my dolls, but it is not good for play. You can find doll hair at JoAnn and Hobby Lobby. There are many videos about re wigging dolls if you are thinking about doing it.

So far I have only driven about 30plus miles locally, but I have asked if people would ship. I have had good luck in that respect. I did drive 300 miles to pick up a kiln and miniature porcelain doll molds. My husband drives from Las Vegas to Salt Lake City for car deals, so if it is a good deal and you want to do it, I say make an adventure of it. The more houses I have collected, the less excited I have become about acquiring more....but it still doesn't stop me from a smokin' hot deal or a rare house. It is an addiction!

I have cut off tabs......it feels like you are doing something horrible, but it is the easiest solution. You can hide the holes with a filler. I have heard that other people have struggled with your same issue on this house and made the stairs removable etc...

Hi Sandy, The Orchid is an adorable house. I build and decorate my house a little different each time....There are many people who paint and wallpaper as they go. There is no hard set rule, after all, it is your house. The main thing is to do a dry fit before the final glue.... Enjoy it and post some pictures when you have a chance.

Welcome Lisa, My first house was the Laurel, and I put siding on it. I did not use the individual slats but bought something off of miniatures.com. Much easier that the individual planks!. I am sure you will be able to assemble the house, the only hard part for me was the porch roof. Here is my Album of the build.
