Unfortunately it is a downfall of plywood kits.
It is like building with Graham crackers.....I don't recommend tasting them though

Invest in a Bam Bam and toss those pins!!! The Bam Bam makes eyelet insertion easier.

Ugh!, the dreaded tape wire. Use the eyelets rather than the pins. They have more surface area for the current to flow, and they are much easier to insert. I also miter fold my turns rather than cut and connect.
