Like a lot of newbies, I always wanted a dollhouse as a child but never got one. Instead I crafted and decorated a cardboard box house for my barbies (using New Kids on the Block cards as artwork! haha). The only other miniature crafting I've done is an a-frame living room scene I made for a Christmas ornament exchange.
I found a Pierce kit on Kijiji this week, so my new hobby that I've been talking about for months is actually going to happen. The kit's foundation was put together with a glue gun - I dismantled it with my hair blower: thanks to the advice here - and all of the pieces were pre-painted with acrylic.
I have done extensive renovations on my real-life century home and am hoping some of those skills can be put to use on my new little home.
Thanks and I look forward to learning about miniatures!
