  1. Just starting my Fairfield kit and wondering...has anyone just completely left out the fireplace? Is it part of the support structure of the house? Any input is welcome.
  2. Kathie, I agree! Lawanda, I love your build in progress! Looking forward to seeing more. Holly, good advice, I appreciate any and all tips as I am still a novice builder for sure!
  3. Hi folks! Hope this Monday finds you well. I have a kind of ambitious project rolling around in my head, but one element of it is a one story living area on the bottom floor under a much larger structure, so I am in need of a fairly big one story house. Since I haven't found a kit that meets this need, I was wondering if I could take a simple 2 story kit and put it together as one story. All thoughts, tips and advice are welcome! Thanks in advance!
  4. Just wanted to share my little mini knitting bag. We're creating several of these in different fabrics or our mini yard shop.
  5. Thank you, Debra. It needs some TLC, which we can't wait to give it!
  6. Cathy, I think you're right! Thanks so much, now I can are a few more pieces missing than I originally thought.
  7. Just got this lovely house, it was given to us. Planning to give it lots of TLC. You can see pics of the interior on my blog: http://sandycoveminis.blogspot.com/
  8. Thanks, I like most of the wallpaper, although I do plan to strip the clown wallpaper out of the top room. I also will take out the carpet and put in wood floors, I hope to match what's there or at least get close. No contact info for the lady though, my hubby got it from someone who was giving it away.
  9. Hi folks, just wanted to take a minute to say hi again. It's been a while since I posted. I had to put my miniature projects on hold for a while due to real life, but now I'm getting back to it. My overall plan is to create an entire miniature town, and I'll be starting with this lovely house. It was given to us by an older lady who was moving in with her children and could no longer keep it. If anyone knows the kit name, I'd love to know, as I've not seen it before. If you'd like to follow our town building project, I'll be posting regular updates here: http://sandycoveminis.blogspot.com/ Thanks for looking!
  10. I got this kit with big intentions, but got sidelined by life. Really need to sell it. ALL REASONABLE OFFERS CONSIDERED. Link for eBay: http://www.ebay.com/...984.m1555.l2649
  11. Anyone know where I can find one in 1:12 scale? I'm talking about one of the half-size dorm refrigerators. Thanks!
  12. That's great, I love it! Okay next question: anyone know of a good source for vintage style fire vehicles in about 1:18 scale. I tried eBay but can only find a few. Thanks!
  13. I'm not sure about hardwoods in bathrooms in the real world, but in my current project I am doing an extra luxurios bathroom, and there are oak floors. I'm sure I'll use rugs, but I wanted a certain look and feel throughout the house so I went with hardwoods everywhere, including the bathroom. I checked out your pics, your house is beautiful! I love the claw foot tub too. Can't wait to see the finished pics.
  14. I was thinking that. I'll have to experiment with that. The bigger scale stuff is crazy expensive!
