  1. Suzy

    Bathroom

From the album: Half Inch scale scratch built house

I dug around in my plastic bits and pieces stash and found the parts for the sink as well as the bath.
  2. Suzy

    1/2 scale stairs

From the album: Half Inch scale scratch built house

I've started working on the staircases, the straight set will have another banister on the facing side.
  3. From the album: Half Inch scale scratch built house

A lot of the walls are plastic panels built using the corner posts Dura Craft used on their houses.
  4. From the album: Half Inch scale scratch built house

The front wall is just an expanse of glass.
  5. From the album: Half Inch scale scratch built house

I cleaned up my craft room today and found a background I used when photographing another house I built, so I decided to use it again. It's such an open house seeing the mess behind it made it difficult to see where the house ended :-D
  6. From the album: Half Inch scale scratch built house

I initially built it with a closed back but decided against it...
  7. I just listed an Elizabeth Ann by Oakridge Corp on Ebay, if anyone is interested. Feel free to PM me with any questions. Auction ends May 16th. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=111349371840 It's in fantastic condition, I just know I will never build it and someone who will love it should, it's a gorgeous house! Here are a few pics of it built Exterior: http://www.greenleafdollhouses.com/forum/index.php?app=gallery&image=47326 http://www.greenleafdollhouses.com/forum/index.php?app=gallery&image=12284 Interior under construction http://jmkoriginals.typepad.com/jmkoriginals_art_paths/2009/01/new-year-new-beginning.html
  8. I am selling a brand new, never out of the box, Laser Dollhouse Designs, 1/2 scale Victorian Dollhouse kit. 1/4 scale is my choice of build. This house kit was purchased April 12, and I would like to sell it, or trade it for a 1/4 scale house kit. Please contact me. Thanks, kdnorman
  9. So I got all the wallpapering done on Pearl ( The Fairfield) and pulled out the sheets with the trim - geeze there is a ton of it ! And the pieces are so little and fragile , I broke a couple of them between punching them out and sanding. Over half done sanding then on to painting them all . I might be weird but I definitely prefer the 1/12 scale over the 1/24 scale , I think the little Van Buren will be waiting a long time.
  10. From the album: More building projects

I was trying to figure out how and where I could put stairs in the Fairfield to the third floor ( I'm weird that way , they have to have stairs) , I had built a regular set, but they didn't suit me . So I whipped these up using the railing punch outs from the 1/2 scale Van Buren.
  11. From the album: More building projects

My little bendy family for the Fairfield.
  12. From the album: More building projects

I was looking for furniture for the Fairfield and bought a puzzle set from Amazon . They are perfect for 1/2 scale - got six rooms of furniture for less than $10 .
  13. From the album: Fairfield, haunted edition

The two beige chairs and the brick fireplace were part of my mother's collection. The other fireplace, chairs, and tables I got on Ebay.

    Ingalls family dolls

From the album: Little House in the Big Woods Cabin (half scale)

Mary at the mirror. I didn't realize until I put her here how low that mirror is! I should move it up a bit.

    Ingalls family dolls

From the album: Little House in the Big Woods Cabin (half scale)

The dolls don't stand up on their own so for now they're leaning on things. I might try sticking wax to the bottoms of their feet.

  17. From the album: Michael's Puzzle House

The washstand doesn't do as good a job as the dresser that was here before of hiding the wallpaper gap where the dormer meets the wall. Oh well.

  18. From the album: Michael's Puzzle House

I rearranged the furniture in the bedroom to make a space for this Cassidy Creations washstand. I bought it off eBay unable to tell from the pictures that it was very poorly finished. I sanded and painted it, then sanded off some of the paint for a distressed look. I think it fits the decor of the puzzle house better than the gree Bauder Pine washstand I had in here before.

    Ingalls family dolls

From the album: Little House in the Big Woods Cabin (half scale)

The dolls have wire arms and legs, so they can sit, but it looks best on Pa (the skirts on Ma and the girls get in the way). I might try making Ma an apron.

Here's the half scale Ingalls family with hair and clothes, next to a spool of thread as a size reference. These were made for me as a custom order by Prarie Crocus Studio on Etsy.

    Ingalls family dolls

From the album: Little House in the Big Woods Cabin (half scale)

I don't usually put dolls in my dollhouses, but the Little House cabin seemed awfully empty without the Ingalls family. So I went in search of dolls, which was tricky since I needed them to look a very specific way, and pickings are slim in half scale. I ended up on Etsy where I found patterns for 1:12 dolls and pioneer clothing at Prarie Crocus Studio. I'm not much of a sewer, so I contacted the shop owner to request a custom order. Here's a picture she sent me of the dolls in progress. Whatever happened to modesty...?
