Needs a plant or a side table with lamp next to the sofa maybe
  2. From the album: 1/6 scale house design

With all the tall windows in the living room, I had to order a 13 inch fan palm and some colorful potted shrubs for the room, the sun filters in so nicely the room is similar to a conservatory or garden room. I held off on an 18 inch Japanese maple, but its also calling my name!

Yesterday, I cut the wall for the second '' floor to ceiling '' window, wallpapered the remaining walls, cut and painted the large doorway trims. and this morning started putting the room together! Next baseboard, ceiling beams and crown molding.

I couldn't find the special bar light I bought to light up my back drop, but I had to try it any way! I borrowed the fireplace screen from the dining room fireplace for now and I need to get busy making more windows!

Working on the ceiling, I started to panic but I found my white paint so the ceiling and beams are drying. Working on crown moldings now.

I painted the tower fronts I might leave it that color until the left side tower is constructed. But today I hope to get the table saw out for the 3 floor tower room box walls, they are already cut but when I tested them they are too tall so I need to cut them down 5 to seven inches and leave just enough room form the trims I am REALLY looking forward to seeing this in place. I plan to to leave the tower rood open or have a large skylight in each tower for natural light. [ this could change though ] My husband REALLY wants James Bond to have a gun room.

Here I am testing out the tower addition rooms to see how they play off the existing rooms, I like the look. Still a lot of work left to do on door casing trims and the rise for the toilet, It just seemed too short. As I stare at the house it dawned on me I could do pocket doors for the bathroom! they would slide almost all the way, they would stick out a bit but it could work.
  8. From the album: 1/6 scale house design

As I am looking at this photo I recall the photo I posted early on of Chevenage House, the Manor House used in the Poldark series season one. I fell madely in love with the triple pane floor to ceiling windows of Chevenage and now I have my own ,miniature rendition of them! Yesterday, I cut the wall for the second '' floor to ceiling '' window, wallpapered the remaining walls, cut and painted the large doorway trims. and this morning started putting the room together! Next baseboard, ceiling beams and crown molding.

Progress photo, more tweaking to do. Working on baseboards today. The room box is setting on its rolling base now. I need to paint just the front of the base and room box then add stonework.

My good friend Linda Ford added a made to move body to my latest doll, she arrived back home today, Linda sent a cute longhaired doggie along, plus extra clothes, boots, shoes , even slippers. Not to mention potted flowers! Thank you Linda.

The new '' Barbie the Look '' comes with cute sweater dress, leggings & boots, Brown purse, sunglasses, sketch book, pencil, cellphone and Starbucks cup of coffee. I see a bit of an Eva Green look in her face, Eva has been in some 007 movies with Daniel Craig. I have looked for a 1/6 scale Eva Green but the faces were not right for me, they were too harsh.
  12. From the album: 1/6 scale house design

In a few weeks I hope to have all the walls floors and windows cut for stacking tower room boxes. Working on the layout of my staircase, The tower will be 40 inches deep, X 20 inches wide, and 30 inches high- to match the existing house. 20 inches is fairly narrow for a 1/6 scale turning staircase. So with large doorways to other rooms on each side, a floating staircase will give the appearance of more space. The photos give a general idea but mine will be tighter. There will be landings at each end for support, as well as a window at each end.

I ran out of glue, so this is far as I can go until I make a run for supplies. Lots more faux stone to apply and I have some crown molding to apply to the tops of the bay windows as well. .I am reminded of a quote by Selkie or Soaps, '' doll houses are built one piece at a time'' I don't know why that is so profound to me but it is. maybe its because this project has a lot of ''pieces''.

She should be holding the latest issue of Traditional Home, but I am out of colored ink! Doll is put together by Linda Holden Ford and the Wolfhound by Ron Hevener [ Etsy ]

Felt like working on drapery today, originally I was not going to have drapes on the back wall window, but I have changed my mind, I think this is a good look and I have not covered the interesting Gothic windows

From the album: 1/6 scale house design

I decided just to open up the drapery on the back wall to see more of the Gothic Window. I need to order more tiny window trim though to get rid of the cracks of light around the back windows.

I waited a LONG time for this fabric to get here but it was an international shipment so...that's ok, I have tried so many fabrics in this room, its crazy, so we shall see if these stand the test of time!
