My husband encouraged me to use my phone for a working fireplace, I now have four phones and a Amazon fire, for props. The Amazon fire works in my largest 1/6 scale fireplace and as a big, big screen. lol -

I have been tempted to change the wall covering in the hallway , when I should be finishing up details like making room connectors, its like homemade channel to cover the bare edges where the room boxes meet. -

Its fun to open the front of the structure, '' light the fireplace '' and sit and relax with my morning coffee, while my dogs are outside.- 7 comments

Its been on my mind to change up the landing of my staircase, just to utilize the room better. My staircase was modeled after the Highclere Castle staircase but I like this too.- 2 comments

I also enjoy how natural light effects the mood of the houses all day long. Lately I have been so busy with everything else, but I still start my day enjoying the manor house with my coffee as I wait for my dachshunds outside, This is an essential part of the hobby, enjoying them!- 12 comments

My talented 1/6 scale friend Linda Holden Ford, took my red carpet Barbie, that doesn't move or bend at all and put her head on a made to move Barbie body for me. Not an easy task, since some of dolls have glue in the head and can be damaged if not done properly. Not only that but she sent silky pajamas, additional pants, tops and extra shoes! Thank you Linda!- 3 comments

I just recently heard about Florentine art paper and found a pattern to scale with colors that compliment each room off the hallway. The sheets are 19 in x 13 in so I will need to do some piecing. I will leave the stone block on the back wall and around the staircase on the 1st floor, but the side walls and opposite wall will be papered with this! I think its a good match with the other wall covering, but I will change the rug. -

I was worried about my wall covering pattern not being the proper time period, but this photo confirms my wall covering falls in line. I would say it falls in line with Renaissance style. I had saved this photo in one of my Pinterest boards. -

I have been considering roof options for some time now, initially had hoped to work in a tower. And last night this idea came to me! If I implement this idea, by making stand alone 3 story towers on rolling bases, they would slide next to the center room, Interior doorways would match up of course, but then I would have a hallway to the back, a staircase to the 3rd floor an upstairs bathroom possibly a kitchen not sure on that. The additions would be roughly 12 inches wide and have the same depth as the center sections., the height and depth created for the 3rd floor will allow for doors in the back leading our to a terrace for each wing! When I built the peaked roof sections it left extra room on the back side of the house to do this, I just didn't know how it was going to come together. -

Stressful work day, busied myself making glittery bows for the tree and wrapping 1/6 scale gifts. Bows and wrapping paper all made out of an old saved gift bag. I thought the colors worked well. I even thought I had a great photo until I saw the dust. I am too tired to re take the shot right now though. Am wondering if the star us just too big?- 2 comments

This is the fabric that inspired the orange and lemon tree idea, its almost exactly as pictured online, except the green is slightly darker. but I still think I like it, and the scale of the pattern is good. -

So I have been inspired by some cheery fabric for my great room rug, [ on its way ] to make a lemon or orange tree for the great room since its the sunniest brightest room. And to probably add more plants as well. I picked up these bushes at Hobby Lobby, I already had the bases, they look good out side by the doorway, but I also like the idea of a tree inside, I found a place where I can order the right sized lemons or oranges to add. Do you think boxwood leaves would be an ok substitute for a lemon or orange tree? -

Taking a vote here, I think I lean toward the Wolfhound, but in the 007 movies ''M'' had the Bulldog statue which was given to Bond when she passed. The Bulldog is even on one of the Skyfall movie posters. And the Wolfhound is laying on something, but I could probably hide it with a blanket or dog bed maybe, I think he would look great in front on one of my fireplaces and the Bulldog would look great at the door or walking with Mr Bond. Both are 1/6 scale. Any thoughts? -

I have the second bedroom together except the baseboard, [ working on that today ], the floor needs a touch up. It looks fairly simple from this photo, but a lot of planning and designing went into each room, there was so much to consider with two opening bay windows in each room, the chandelier with a hidden cord that plugs into a wall outlet, but especially how to make something this big [ approx. 3ft wide x 4ft deep ] strong as well as light weight.© Debora O'Dells Collection
