From the album: 1/6 scale house design
Its been on my mind to change up the landing of my staircase, just to utilize the room better. My staircase was modeled after the Highclere Castle staircase but I like this too.- 2 comments

Thanks Everyone who responded with help on the uploading issue. Deb walked me thru windows 8.1 how to resize with ''Paint'' Have had this PC for over a year and did not know it was even there! Hurray! I was able to change the size of my pic fairly easily, I can stay with Greenleaf, I check our beloved website each day several times per day, it would have been hard to break it off! Thanks again!!! -

This has a long way to go but its all one movable piece now, minus last flight of stairs, lots of details paneling stonework windows etc. Thanks everyone for helping me figure out how to continue posting pics after the switch to a new server.© Debora O

Again the light makes a difference, I added the finials just for fun and really like them, the finialsAlso and the aging really makes them stand out more. Also finished aging the long flight of steps up above this section but still have all the landing balusters to age. I have not found the perfect wall paper for this room and it has to extend 2 floors, I am leaning against the interior stone block look.© Debora O'Dells Collection

Another vantage point of the staircase. -
From the album: 1/6 scale house design
Over the weekend I worked on making the staircase one solid movable piece, the wall directly behind the first landing still needs to be paneled and there is one more flight of stairs that is not added yet, it needs paneled on the underside since it will be seen. In the Highclere Castle staircase photos you will see stone block on the walls as you ascend the staircase. I have plans to make stone blocks out of mat board. Have been making more windows today. The 4 tall windows above the staircase are next. Almost ready for walls! -

Playing around with pieces we have taken the router to, my husband bought a router table for the dremel, he notched out the newel posts and also did some work on the posts. Very rough just the beginning of the staircase -

Playing around with pieces here very rough, this is the first third of the turning staircase, you can kind of see 3 landings, there are 5 landings if you count the second floor itself. Have been trying out our new dremel routing table, to make the posts interesting. I wanted a chunky staircase so I am liking it. Its good to play around like this, in doing so I figured out that with a turning staircase, the newel posts need to be notched out on 3 sides, so you can see the work as you look up the staircase, this will all be wood paneled and stained. with 4 tall slender windows behind it that set between first and 2nd floor
