  1. Does anyone know what the interior floor measurements for Brimbles are? I am guessing about 18" x 19", less the stairwell, for each floor. Is that about right? @havanaholly you have the structure built, right? Am I way off? I am trying to plan/budget for the flooring, but the photos are so hard for me to judge. Thanks for the help! Jodi
  2. From the album: My Grandparents' Houses

A completed Brimble's Mercantile; all of the furniture and accessories were found in labelled boxes. I'm not sure where this one will go if a family member doesn't want to take it.
  3. I received my copy of Dolls' House Shops, Cafe's & Restaurants (Jean Nisbett) an hour ago and am totally giddy from all the exciting ideas. My yarn balls from Casey's blog have turned into wanting a sewing shop, which in turn, is triggering a WANT for a range of shops and restaurants! I would love to build a whole mall (living in Dubai, that would be typical hahahahahaha), so I'm wondering what all of you have used and what you prefer (and why). Would boxes as shopfronts be easier to stack and display side-by-side (with pretty ornamented "facades" of course) or did you make a street full of shops? If I stack boxes and put some connecting staircases to the different levels - would that look stupid or can you imagine that it would work? I like the Brimbles Mercantile a LOT - would it be trashy to make a couple of them (with some minor bashing to give unique features to each one) for a street? Or can you recommend some smaller DH that would fit in with a street-full-of-shops theme?
  4. I know, I have been quite here on my blog. It's because I have started back working on a fabulous house. I am doing the Brimbles Mercantile kit by Greenleaf Dollhouses for a customer of mine. It's not much to look at right now but, here are some shots so you all can see it. I love the wallpaper colors. I love just about every shade of blue!!! The shade in the wallpapers the customer gave me just looks wonderful. I'll upload more shots later. These are down stairs shots: This is the upstairs: Putting the stairs together was a killer! My customer is happy so I am too. I hope to have this one completed by the first week of February. This is what the plain kit looks like: I will have stone on the outside of this one.
