From the album: San Franciscan Interior
Coming up the stairs you'll find the place she sews her creations. A custom Sewing machine is waiting with a little pad on the chair to ensure comfort. The dress mannequin is the first place the designs are fitted. During their creation the iron works to open the seams. Chrysnbon kit thats was customized for the room, the ironing board was made from the pattern on Dollhouse Miniature Madness Tutorials and folds shut.- 2 comments

From the album: The Willow
I have been slowly working on The Willow again. I am really close to finishing the attic area. This will be the servants quarters for my make believe Colonial family. Now I need to pull out all my furniture and see what needs to go where.- 3 comments

The kids bedroom almost finished! Loving this - so pleased with it! -

The attic room started.... -
Hi all! I have spent quite a bit of time tidying stuff up and now I've begun to furnish the rooms! Because the kids attic bedroom is so small - despite my adding on to it, I wanted to build 'built in' beds. Well I am absolutely thrilled with how well they have turned out! I have started to work on the rest of the attic also. It's going to be Val's space for crafting and for apothecary stuff. Beginning to really enjoy this process!

It bothers me that the attic on the Rosedale is inaccessible - just a hole in the floor. I've looked at pulldown stairs or just building another staircase, but that wouldn't be easy to do at this point because the basic structure is assembled. Also, the Rosedale is painfully small, and I don't want to lose more floor space. I saw the Greenleaf newsletter suggestion to make fake pulldown stairs. I'd prefer something more functional, but maybe that's no longer an option because the structure is assembled?

Hi. Always wanted a dollhouse and finally I have a beautiful Beacon Hill Dollhouse. Most of it is finished but I want to turn the attic into either an observation tower, artist studio or perhaps a very feminine boudoir. Would love any ideas you have.

There are plenty of items in this attic to entertain both a child and an adult. The latest additions are some Christmas and John Denver albums. -

This is the beginning of a cozy little attic room. The wallpaper is left over from Mo's room box, and I liked how the painted sections blend with the paper. -

A close up of the room box my friend Maureen voted for as her People's Choice submission at the Philadelphia Miniaturia in Cherry Hill, NJ on November 2.- 1 comment

At the Philadelphia Miniaturia there was a room of displays where you could submit your People's Choice Award. My friend Maureen voted for this attic display.-

Before the renovations this area of the attic was sealed off by a solid wall. This secton had no floor, and it was open from the second floor. Now it is a nice extended area of one of the attic bedrooms, and the added window gives the room some light. -

Dry fit of the Pierce attic roof and wall sections. I gave up on the cheap plywood and went with foamcore for the wall sections. -

This is the finished exterior as it looks from the front of the house. There is now a dormer window in the hallway and one bedroom, and behind the hexagon attic window is another bedroom. The dormers look like they were always on the house, and Chuck from the Dollhouse Factory got the wood stain to match perfectly. Of all the work he did, I believe staining those dormers took the most time. -

This is the attic peak before the renovations. The red circle design, similar to a Pennsylvania hex sign, is now an attic window. Before the renovations, there was no Plexiglass in the windows. -

I like this paper. Same story as with the LR and kitchen...bargain basement. I think I might make a hole and a ladder for access. -

Painted left wall darker exterior color & trim lighter exterior color. Might do painted floor?? Paper template is in location of spiral staircase.© MP 2012

There's no changing my mind now! I divided up the attic so that it is two rooms and I finally started wallpapering. so far it's going great. no mishaps yet.
