    Less May Be More

From the album: Country House - Renovated

Placement is everything in the mini world, which is why I like playing with the furniture in this room. I thought the vanity, which was really made for my Garfield house, may have been too bulky for an attic room that was compromised by a slanted roof. Also, the wicker chair next to the matching wicker dresser was a tight squeeze in the opposite corner. So for now, I am saving the vanity as inspiration to complete my Garfield house, and the wicker chair looks good on the porch. I really didn't want to take the vanity away from the girls, but they prefer using Grandma's vanity anyway. Amy likes her desk in the corner where the vanity was, and both she and Heather find the openenss of the room fresh and appealing. Besides, they need to make room for the dollhouse they may be getting for Christmas.

    Girls' Corner

From the album: Country House - Renovated

Before the renovations this area of the attic was sealed off by a solid wall. This secton had no floor, and it was open from the second floor. Now it is a nice extended area of one of the attic bedrooms, and the added window gives the room some light.

    Wicker World

From the album: Country House - Renovated

I moved the pink wicker hamper that was in the alcove and placed it at the front of the bed. I also moved the pink hat box and bag that were in Grandma's room back into the alcove area where the hamper was. Like a typical girl's room, this one has a lot of things in it. Placement is sometimes difficult because of the slanted walls and attic roof; but this is the room I find my self "playing" with the most. If I ever get my Garfield house in shape, I may move the vanity of this room, but then again, I like the desk in this room and may keep the pieces together. I also like the green and pink combination.
  4. From the album: Country House - Renovated

This is a close-up view of the back section (which is actually the front section) of the master bedroom, which contains a roll-top desk and chest of drawers. The curtains match the skirt on grandma's vanity.
  5. From the album: Country House - Renovated

While Amy is snacking in her room with Heather, the younger girls vacated their room to have tea in the living room. This is the room they left intact.
  6. From the album: Country House - Renovated

The family is getting ready for a snack, but Heather sprained her ankle, so Grandma fixed her a tray so she doesn't have to go downstairs. Amy decided to join her, so she won't have to snack alone. The book on the bed is The Playboy Interviews with John & Yoko, and Amy is going to read portions of it to Heather. That should cheer her up. Thanks to Grandma and Grandpa's albums, the girls are real Beatles fans.

    Haunted House?

From the album: Country House - Renovated

The girls believe the house is haunted because when my ceiling fan is on, the rocking chair in Grandma's bedroom rocks by itself. Now they may have proof on film. Grandma is in her room trying to decide if the purple vase Grandpa bought her looks best on the mantle or vanity, and it looks like a friendly ghost may be offering his opinion. Do you see the image of a face in the light?

    Grandma's Vanity

From the album: Country House - Renovated

This is Grandma's vanity, which I thought looked both elegant and country. When I picked up my dollhouse from the Dollhouse Factory, I purchased the vanity to bring home with it, as it matched the wallpaper perfectly. It is the first new piece of furniture I purchased since the renovations were complete.
  9. From the album: Country House - Renovated

The other attic bedroom belongs to Amy and Heather, the two older girls. The green wicker vanity and desk were made by Terri (smallhouset) for my Garfield house, but I have no idea when I will have that renovated, and these items deserved to be displayed. Besides, they match the wallpaper, go good with the pink in the alcove area, and Heather and Amy needed new furniture! How could I have deprived them?

    Holly w. Socks

From the album: Country House - Renovated

Here is another picture of Holly and her cat. It got cold outside, so they came inside to play.
  11. From the album: Country House - Renovated

Holly is entertaining her cousin Annie who came to visit. Annie is resting after a long train ride. The tray on Annie's lap was also made by Terri to match the green furniture pieces.
  12. From the album: Country House - Renovated

When I was planning the renovations for this house, I was pretty much set on the colors I wanted for each and every room - except the master bedroom. However, once I saw the patchwork bedspread in the gift shop of the Great American Dollhouse Museum in Danville, Kentucky, my decision was sealed. The back area by the windows used to be the bathroom of my old house. When I was contemplating having the bathroom sectioned off for "privacy," I didn't know how it would affect the bedroom, as it took 6 inches away from the space between the two side walls. However, I now had the back area to work with, and that gave the room more depth and a cozier feel.

    Rearranged Bedroom

From the album: Country House - Renovated

The furniture pices are now rearranged to accommodate a bench along the left side wall. The desk has been moved to the imaginary wall in front of the bed. Now you can get a better glympse of Terri's work. Amy is cut off in the picture, but she is standing aside to admire her room. Green is her favorite color.
  14. From the album: Country House - Renovated

All the wallpaper in this house comes from the Dollhouse Factory in Lebanon, NJ - except for the Raggedy Ann bedroom and the hallway. This print comes from Jennifer's free online wallpaper, which I printed on cardstock, and Bill from the Dollhouse Factory put it up for me. Originally, I was going to make this room a red, white, and blue boy's room, but when I saw this print, I was sold on it. I thought the Raggedy Ann print may have been too busy for the whole room, however, so the other walls and the hallway are done in a blue and white checked pattern, also taken from Jennifer's wallpaper selection. Note the blue and white checked paper above the rocking chair. - The dolls were purchased on eBay.
  15. From the album: The Tiffany

I have started to trim the dormer windows & I found an unfinished cradle that needs to be painted.
  16. From the album: The Steampunk House

The Steampunk House, the end result of a lengthy blog challenge/contest. It was a quirky cabinet, but now it's a Steampunk themed dollhouse. How cool is that? This is the Bedroom. The walls are a painted brown paper bag, except for the door which is painted bass wood and some findings. The floor is remanent upholstery fabric. The small accessories were either, bought, found, or gifted to me, BUT the steampunk bunkbed is 100% handmade out of the following; Bass/balsa wood Polymer clay Aluminum wire Fabric stretched out cotton balls paper Acrylic paint Polycrylic More info on my blog; http://kyle-lefort.blogspot.com/2013/05/undersized-urbanite-entry-steampunk.html

    Hideaway Bedroom

From the album: The Hideaway (Pierce)

Here is the wallpaper in the bedroom. I am still mulling over a couple of ideas for the flooring.
  18. Hey everyone I recently got into the miniature hobby and was looking into the Bespaq furniture line as it seemed to be the most recommended for quality and detail. I saw this on ebay listed as Bespaq but I couldn't seem to find it in the recent catalogues that I was able to find online. So I was wondering if this is a genuine Bespaq piece? And it it was, what collection/year is it under? Thanks in advance!
