From the album: RGT Classic Bungalow 1:12 scale
The electricity is on, the 2nd floor is almost done, and I now see that the living room is so big that I have to make a couple of lamps to fill the room with light. Time to get creative :D- 12 comments

So, I'm pretty new to miniatures (just completed my first project--a haunted version of the Orchid) and now I want to move on to a Craftsman style house so that I can try my hand at paneling and furniture-making. Yes, I have the bug pretty bad now. So, the only kit that I can find that really says "craftsman" to me is Real Good Toys Classic Bungalow. I love the outside but really don't like the plan inside--it's not big enough (size of rooms and number of rooms) and the top floor rooms flow into one another, which is always awkward I think (pretty much makes it a one bedroom by default). Which means that I need to bash it. The problem is that there is not a lot around to bash it with...I could buy another classic bungalow kit, but putting two of that plan together would just look pretty dumb any way I can think to arrange them. I could just build an addition (note the use of the word "just"--ha!) and have found an example in a book on bungalows that shows the same basic facade with another wing set back from the main house--gable in the same direction with a bump-out forward facing gable over a window. That would help with the downstairs but maybe not with the upstairs. Has anyone tried bashing this kit? Or, does anyone know of another kit that looks even vaguely craftsman-like in style? All the victorians have such steep roofs that I just don't think they would modify well. Sorry for the rambling post. I've been struggling with what to do for awhile. Thanks!

I have had to make the tough decision to give up the Real Good Toys Classic Bungalow Kit (1-inch scale). It's the plywood version (milled siding on the outside walls; I purchased this from HBS). I have opened the box and looked at the pieces, but I did not unpack everything (pieces are still bundled and rubber-banded), and instructions are intact. The whole thing is in excellent condition--opened the box a couple weeks ago, which is when I realized I didn't have room for it. All I have to do is tape the box back up and mail it. I don't know if it's ok to post price here, but I'm asking *price removed* plus how much it costs to ship it to you via UPS. I'm thinking US only will be cheapest (I'm in Phoenix; if you live close enough you can pick it up from me). I hate to part with it, but I seriously don't have room. I live in a small house, have a bunch of dollhouses already, and at the moment I have to pack up my entire house to replace floors that got water damaged from a broken water heater (All my miniatures were well away from the damage zone, thank goodness!). So--if you are interested, post here or contact me. Remember this is the Kit only (un-assambled), in excellent condition in the original box. Jennifer Ashley http://www.jennsminis.wordpress.com
