  1. From the album: Room Box for My Sister

This cabin came with a dividing wall, but since I was wiring it, I didn't want to use it. I added the fireplace, sink/stove cupboard, and a bed. I was aiming for a sofa but after I got it in there it looked too big - so it's a bed!

  2. From the album: The Steampunk House

This is a neat little house-shaped cabinet I picked up at an antique co-op a couple of summers ago. It's not really an antique, but I knew that when I bought it and didn't care because I was planning on repainting it anyway. From my understanding, front open houses can be pricey, so this really was a find. Originally it had pink windows, but someone painted them black. They look fine in the photo, but up close they're kind of a mess.

  3. From the album: The Steampunk House

The inside of my cabinet house. It's not a super small, but it's still pretty compact. I'm basically doing my own miniature rendition of that White Room Challenge show.

  4. From the album: Reverie Cottage

The wreath is wire and hot glued mosses. The topiary is a card holder from the wedding section of Michael's.

  6. Hello everyone. I had started a blog last year as part of a class assignment, and decided tonight to update it with a post about building The Canterbury by Greenleaf. It's not much at the moment (the blog, that is) but it's a start and thought I'd share. I will be updating it again this week as I have made more progress than my post shows. But, for anyone interested, I'm putting it out there. Comments are welcome! http://sparrowsview.wordpress.com

  8. From the album: Cosy Conservatory (Greenleaf Greenhouse)

Surrounded by lush turf and luxurious plants, this sweet little greenhouse is a delightful sanctuary from life's stresses. Inside you'll find a rocking chair beside a table holding a pretty potted Coleus, a pair of scissors and thread, a cup of tea, and a plate of brownies. There are books to read (and the cutest little apple bookends you ever did see) and a dollhouse to play with, and lots of beautiful plants and flowers to nurture. Outside are gardening tools and even a puppy to play with......and a sassy little rabbit to make you laugh. Wouldn't it be wonderful to have all this in real life?

    From the album: Printable Wallpapers

All these printies come ready to print...there should be no need for adjustments. Use regular printing paper or cardstock for the wallpapers. I suggest using cardstock for things other then wallpapers. You can change whatever you like in any of these printies.

  15. Dr Thaddeus has decided to go into the real estate business and put his quarter scale steampunk fairy house up on the market for sale. Drop by my Etsy store to visit this little charmer when you have a minute. https://www.etsy.com/listing/100771135/quarter-scale-steampunk-fairy-house-an Deb
  16. My poor little half scale lighthouse has been languishing, half naked, on a shelf in the studio for well over a year. I lost momentum thanks to all my health issues and had closed the door to the studio until recently. I'm working my way up gradually and even tho I won't hit the same level that I used to, it feels soooooo good to be able to do just a few minutes a day. I've started by completing my UFOs---two quarter scale fairy houses and this half scale lighthouse. I researched stonework done on the east coast for an article about brownstones for the Gazette and the beauty of that stone captured my imagination. The end result is a mixture of three types of stonework combined into what my historian friend assures me is an accurate representation of an east coast lighthouse. The fun thing is that I custom built the 1:12 scale "Point Luck" lighthouse for this same friend which was a totally different style and yet still historically accurate. I love how one kit can be so many things! But onto the eye candy! You can find the "Half Scale East Coast Lighthouse" in my gallery here or you can see a few more detailed pics on my website here. Someone asked me about the full scale lighthouse so here's the link for it if you'd like to see how the two vary from one another in more than size. Oh, I almost forgot the teaser pic! LOL!! Deb
  17. Ah, springtime when a young mad scientist's fancies turn to love. Would you believe that Dr Thaddeus Robertson has fallen in love with a fairy? Apparently it's pretty serious because he's built a house for her. Well, to be honest he took a quarter scale house (the carriage house from one of the Greenleaf villages) that I'd built about a year ago and finished it. I'd originally intended that house to be a witch's house and had gotten as far as doing the stonework on it but then I got started on the Rosedale and the little house got lost in the shuffle. Dr Thaddeus dug it out of the UFO box and put on strong copper doors and a roof of steel plates bolted together with brass rivets. He complained a lot about having to do menial labor like that when what he was really itching to do was make things like the water well pump in the side yard and the carriage lamp out front. He even put a pretty fairy medallion over the door. The fairy must like it because I see smoke coming from the chimney and that's always a good sign of a happy home. I'm not sure how things are going to work out with them, but I truly do wish Dr Thaddeus all the best. He deserves to get out of the laboratory once in awhile and have some fun. Here's a teaser pic of the fairy house. You can see more pictures including close up details in my steampunk gallery here on the forum or if that doesn't work for you, you can go to my website here.
