I live in Middlesex, NJ, which was once the home of Knickerbocker Toy Company, and in the mid 1970's I purchased a 16 inch Amy doll at a local carnival. Shortly after that, I won Holly on a game wheel at another carnival, and I purchased Heather in the toy section of a department store. In time, I purchased the 5 inch versions of the three dolls, and when my father built my 1979 Country House by Model Homes, I sent the small dolls to live in the house. - Now that the house has been remodeled, I purchased both the large and small Carrie dolls on e-Bay, and now little Carrie also lives in the house. Amy, Heather, and Carrie are friends of Holly, but in the house they are all sisters. Amy is wearing green; Heather, beige; Holly, blue; and Carrie, red. The tags on all the dolls say Knickerbocker Toy Company, Middlesex, NJ. -

I came across this little Elmo while searching the bins at my local dollhouse shop and couldn't resist bringing it home to Holly and Carrie. The girls must have tired him out because Elmos looks like he is yawning in this picture. -

Grandpa was out shoveling snow today, so Grandma and the girls rewarded him by putting out a nice spread of treats for Valentine's Day. They also gave him his birthday cake a few days early.- 3 comments

This is the corner of Amy and Heather's bedroom where the girls like to play. Here you can see the second of the two dollhouses they got for Christmas, along with two new dolls. -

This is one of the two dollhouses the girls' got for Christmas. This one is in Holly and Carrie's room. Holly also got a jump rope, which she is keeping out on the toy chest as a reminder of spring. The story books Carrie got are lying on the bed. -

Carrie loves her "life-size" Mickey Mouse, and from what the family can tell, feelings are mutual. Grandma and Grandpa ordered this gift from a catalog, but it didn't arrive in time for Christmas; so they told Carrie the mouse fell out of Santa's bag before he hopped on his sleigh, but Mrs. Claus found it and shipped it to Carrie from the North Pole, along with a nice letter of apology. - Not only is Carrie excited to show Mickey to her friends, she can't wait to tell them that Mrs. Claus writes just like her Grandma. -

When Carrie saw the dining room, she thought Santa would get in trouble for messing up Grandma's house, but her eyes quickly adjusted to the scene as she checked out the dollhouses with Holly. The girls are very appreciative, and Amy is hugging Grandma, while Heather is waiting for Grandpa to put is arms around her. The girls knew they were loved, but they didn't know their grandparents were this crazy. - Carrie thinks Santa bought the gifts, but she will hug her grandparents anyway. -

Amy and Heather are both giggling in bed wondering what their silly grandparents are doing downstairs. They hear Grandpa - oops, they mean Santa - saying, "Ho, ho, ho; those girls better be asleep upstairs." -

No matter how many new toys Holly gets, she will always love her toy cat. To prove it, she took her cat to bed with her on this very special night. The girls are in for some very special memories and dreams. -

Holly is excited, but trying to sleep, while Carrie keeps looking toward the window for signs of Santa. -

The girls want to be sure that everyone on this site lately gets their Christmas/Holiday message, which is: Seasons Greetings from our little home to yours. We wish you the best of all the little things in life. Love, Grandpa, Grandma, Amy, Heather, Holly, Carrie, and Fala (the dog) P.S. -- Happy Holidays from me too! -

The Christmas presents under the tree are gifts the family is giving to one another, and they will be opened on Christmas Eve, before Santa comes with his bag of goodies. Carrie found a box with her name on it, and she is hoping it will be a Mickey Mouse. Maybe Grandma should have wrapped the gift in a different box. -

After what seemed like a hundred takes, the family got a few good shots from which they can use for their family Christmas card. The girls are lining the staircase in Brady Bunch fashion (that is youngest to oldest moving from top to bottom). Their personalized stockings were made by Barbara Hill of Hill Country Miniatures. The girls kept mixing up their stockings, as they thought it would be funny if they were each holding a stocking with one of their sisters' names instead of their own to see if anyone would notice. However, Grandma thought that would confuse too many friends and relatives, so they kept it serious. -

The family decided on to use this picture for the this year's Christmas card. The card reads: Happy Holidays from our little home to yours. We wish you all the best of the little things in life this coming year. - Love, Grandpa, Grandma, Amy, Heather, Holly, Carrie, and Fala. - (Fala is sitting on Grandma's lap.) The family hopes this message gets your holiday season off to a good start, and so do I. -

My girls are so happy and excited to meet Angi. She is bigger than they are and cannot stand or walk on her own, but they love her anyway. Grandma told them that everyone is handicapped in some way and no one is perfect, but we all have something special to offer one another. Grandma is a wise woman. Woody is protectively waiting for Angi outside. The girls love how Woody takes care of their friend. The woman partially appearing in the upper right hand corner is my friend Ann who is Angi and Woody's caregiver. -

Meet Angi (short for Angelina) and Woody (short for Woodstock). Angi is a little girl with fragile legs. She cannot stand on her own, but if you hold her up, she can miraculously tap dance on the the floor - or preferrably a tin tray. She likes to spell her nickname Angie without the "e," as she is not afraid to be "different." Her best friend Woody is a raccoon who helps her out, as she cannot get around very well on her own. My friend Ann takes care of both Angi and Woody, who have many sleep overs together. -

It looks like this family enjoys making music together. I thought this was a lovely scene in beautiful room. -

This scene depicts the life of a young nanny on her first job. It looks like the poor girl has her hands full. -

Here they come. From left to right are Heather in her 1st-place Christmas tree costume, Amy the 60's flower child, Carrie the friendly ghost with pigtails, and Holly who is an interesting pile of leaves. If they should appear at your dollhouse or room box door today, don't be alarmed - they are only trick-or-treating. The girls are bringing their wagon to help carry all their candy home. They also threw in Holly's cat for good measure. -

Grandma and Grandpa are discussing how fortunate they are to be able to enjoy their grandchildren on special days like Halloween. Grandpa is saying how God was good to them, and Grandma is saying how she feels someone up above is watching over them. -

Holly is saying good night to her new found friend who is one step beyond the window. She was going to open it to let him in, but he said that was unnecessary because he could simply go through the walls if he wanted to. The light behind Holly is a real-life light that is reflecting on the window. It is in my bedroom and not the dollhouse, but it looks like it's on the other side of the window.
