  1. Hello. We found a Dura Craft Bayberry Cottage (BY 197) dollhouse at a yard sale and was told it was complete. The box had been open but it looked full. Instead of doing the smart thing, and verifying the contents, we tore into the project and began assembly. We made it to page 4 and realized there are missing pieces. After a more careful examination, we realized there are more pieces missing then just two. From my search, it appears Dura Craft is no longer in business so finding replacement parts will be challenging. If anyone has this dollhouse and needs replacement pieces, we would love to help with your needs. We would rather help someone complete their projects than just throw this in the trash. If you are interested in this project, just contact us and we can work out shipping. We hope this will help someone complete their dollhouse.
  2. Hello miniature community, I have searched this site to see if I could find any discussions or information about whether DuraCraft is still in business or not. My dollhouse kit (Farmhouse) has an order form for new parts if they are ruined or missing. It says it's in Newberg, OR. but the number is disconnected and I'm guessing they don't exist any longer? I can't find a website that belongs to them either. Why is the dollhouse world so underground? Hahaha. Anyway, my kit is missing ALL of the window panes and mirrors. I'm sure I can make them myself with the right materials, but another frustrating aspect of this project, is that not one piece has the measurements listed in the manual. So if there is a source for these parts by a company that bought them out...or? Thanks for you help! Katie
  3. Hope I am obeying the rules. I am "New" here, but my eBay record is visible, and I can point to when I bought and sold high end cinema cameras and gear. I am happy to provide additional photos or details if requested. (1) Arrow Kit 750 Royal Dream Kit in original box, Appears complete, I counted the main wood sheets. I am not sure if any shingles or other loose pieces. Box is old masking tape nightmare, but it is there. (2) Kit: Dura Craft Heritage HR 560 Kit in original box. Perhaps 25% of kit is missing. My wife and I did an inventory of the pieces. I have some of the instruction manual pages we made notes on, but need to look for a couple pages. (3) BUILT: Greenleaf Fairfield 8015 Fully assembled, painted, flooring. But needs a bit of care. Some shingles are missing, Some panels sem loose. Flooring, other decorator items showing their age.

Due to the tiny size of the kitchen, there wasn't room for a full size refrigerator and still room for play so I opted for non functional cabinets and a vintage style built in fridge.

The trellis was a last minute idea. I wish I would have installed it prior to the roof so it could lay under. I do love the house number plaque though.

Exterior painting done & railings have been repaired. Waiting to glue a few railing sections until all doors & windows have been put back.

This window had us stumped for a bit. My Mom had a plastic “stained glass” piece in it & my Dad modified the window opening & built the window to fit. I found some mullions & made the insert to fit. We like it much better!
  8. Hello all, i'm new here, Where do I post a listing for selling a dollhouse? Its a Dura-Craft VM-800 Victorian Mansion.

Starting rehab...forgot to take a good “before” pic of front..this is the best we have!
  10. Hello everyone! I’ve enjoyed reading the posts here and have been meaning to say hello! My daughter & I are renovating a Dura Craft VH600 that my mother built over 35 years ago. I remember when she opened the huge box full of thousands of pieces of wood! She said looking at all those pieces was so overwhelming that she almost changed her mind & wanted to take it back to the store! My Dad made her a work table and she plugged away at it for years. She wired it, wallpapered it and laid wood flooring in the largest room. She painted it yellow & it was a permanent fixture in our home. Of course, my 3 brothers & I were rarely allowed to play with it after all the hard work she had put into it. My Dad had quickly restored my Mom’s childhood dollhouse for me to play with, but it paled in comparison to what she was building! When our family moved, my Mom’s best friend offered to keep the house for a while. Eventually, I got married & moved away and so did my 3 brothers. Now that there was extra room, the house was returned to my Mom. Enter Grandchildren....those delicate railings on the dollhouse didn’t stand a chance! My daughter is 13 now and has always loved all things miniature. My Mom has wanted to give her the dollhouse for years, but we just didn’t have room. Now we do, so in October it was delivered by my parents, along with several boxes of miscellaneous building pieces, old copper wiring tape and tons of furniture & miniatures! At first I wasn’t sure about this project, but I have totally fallen in love! And it is a bonding time with my daughter that doesn’t involve a screen in front of her face! ;) We have removed the old yellowed wallpaper, the old wiring, and the curling wood flooring. Currently, we are painting the exterior. I will post pics when I’m allowed. My Mom, daughter & I plan to attend the Seattle Minature show in March... 3 generations of miniaturists!

Just have this partially glued, partially dry fit. Makes it easier to envision things. I'm going to stop here and do the floors and ceilings while I can get to them. I'd like to add a false stairwell or door to suggest one, since I'm omitting the stairs.
