From the album: Doll houses
Here is the front of my Duracraft Farmhouse 505. I purchased it through a local online buy-sell-trade group, fully furnished for $60! What a find! I'm so excited to redecorate it! -

I think I know which I'm leaning towards, but I'd like outside input. -

Amazing how fast a house can come together when you're not being particular about the exterior finish. -

The crackle finish is growing on me. I've also figured out a way to fix the areas I don't particularly like, so I'll do that soon. -

Looks like all the pieces are there, although some (like the base) are water damaged and need to be replaced. I won't be bashing too much (famous last words) although I would like to do something different for the shutters and doors. -

My sister-in-law purchased this dollhouse at a garage sale over fifteen years ago. It was partially constructed and came with almost all the original materials to finish it, sans the instructions. She asked me if I would like to finish it up to give to her grand daughter for Christmas 2014. I have learned so much from, and been inspired by, so many of you members. I have six months to finish, and still lots to do!

From the album: Christmas Surprise for our niece
This room is so beautiful! Need to paint chairrail and baseboard and install. The Houseworks carpet I attached to tagboard with adhesive photo squares and the tagboard attached to the floor with "real big people" webbed carpet tape from my toolbox (easy to pull up). This room is waiting for the Canopy bed set that I've bashed, or rather, removed the existing fabric and making sheets, pillows, comforter and lace canopy. I'm sure I'm having even more fun than my niece! I love this room and I'm not a "pink" person. Love the stripes, think I'm early Victorian! -
From the album: My Grandparents' Houses
A well completed shell for a Dura-Craft Sweetheart. Some finishing pieces from the kit are still in the box. I will likely finish and donate this house as well, if it isn't wanted by a family member.- 1 comment

A (sorry to say) sloppily completed shell for a Dura-Craft Brookfield. Whereabouts of the finishing pieces from the kit are unknown. I will likely finish and donate this house, if no other family member wants it.-

I was excited to bid and win on the Heritage Dollhouse recently. Sadly, I bid on the one that was missing parts instead of the New In Box (okay, my fault). Wondering if anyone out there has leftover parts from their Heritage or other Duracraft House...Please PM if you can help, I'm happy to compensate for parts and shipping. It's crazy I know, but worth a shot. Ironically, I have 3 sheets of H10 and the directions do not note this unless I've misunderstood... I will continue to peruse Craigslist, eBay, Etsy, shopgoodwill.com, and the Seattle Miniature Show this weekend. Perhaps the dollhouse angels will smile and send one my way. I tried to attached the file with highlighted pictures but it is too large. Basically, I'm missing all the gutter, downspout, brackets, posts and trim along with the following sheets: HR-1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 11, and 12 Maybe there is someone out there with the same situation or three sheets of something! Thank you for reading and happy dollhousing!

Hello All Fellow Dollhouse Builders. I just signed up today and joined online..... Wished I would have found this place sooner So I have two dollhouses that are the San Franciscan 550 and the Farmhouse 505 and both of them are going to have to be rehabbed. I am more than likely going to sell them as I really have room only for the 1/2 scale Should I rehab them or just sell them as - is if I am not going to keep them..... After pondering the whole situation, shipping them and yada yada I am really stuck If you have any suggestions, advise, or anything please let me know..... Thanks

This year I am going to work on as many of my dollhouses as I possibly can. I have several that need rehabbed, some of those will be going to new homes. Unfortunatly I am unable to keep them all. I know which ones I am keeping. I will be working on both the ones I intend to keep and those that will move on to new homes. I also have several kits, still in the boxes that I want to try to pull out. But, I really want to work on the Rehabs first. I also have a couple totes full of furniture and accessories I want to pull out and declutter. I will be offering it all here.! First House that will be brought upstairs is The Shenandoah Log Cabin. It belongs to my youngest son, Zach. We built it together a few years ago. Over the summer we moved my craft room to the other side of the basement, during the move he picked it up by the porch roof and it came off. The porch supports are now laying on the porch..... and the roof is barely attached. I will working on it in the dining room upstairs for the time being. It is very chilly in the basement right now. It is a finished basement but still very chilly. I do have a small tower heater... but with all my stuff in the room it is very tight quarters and I am afraid to have it going right now....as it would be very close to things and could start a fire. Zach has decided he wants the Shenandoah to be a hunting cabin so we will be working on making things for it as well.... he will need blankets and window coverings.... and of course a deer head ! Since a few days befre Thanksgiving he shot his first deer after being in the wods 1 hour with his Dad.! The Shenandoah is made of MDF, which I truely dont like... It was not easy making it look like wood.

From the album: Christmas Surprise for our niece
Oh, the parlor, waiting for it's elegant wood floor (and the right saw to cut it with) and curtain rods. Found some 1/8" brass rods at Lowe's today, a possibility for window shades... And the window box is waiting for a cushion. Imagine, I ordered the "pink" furniture for my niece and found scrapbooking paper at Michael's that almost exactly matched! And antique store lace "coasters" make excellent rugs. Everything I crochet turns into a hat :-) -

A full shot of the Duracraft Newberg interior. Wallpapered with Minigraphics Wallpaper Mucilage from Hobby Lobby with a foam brush - for my first time, I'd say it went rather well. What is left? Baseboard, Chairrail and the wood flooring that my husband is going to cut at work :-) Mitering 101 for me! -
From the album: Christmas Surprise for our niece
My niece loves purple and pink, so there are three pink rooms (of different shades), a green room, and I thought lavender the perfect shade for the bathroom. And I'm picturing some doilies over the corner ledges... -

The downstairs kitchen, sans flooring, to be done this week. Placed tracing paper inside and creased with finger, made cuts with Xacto knife where corner posts existed, then transferred to thin tagboard. Once the wood is cut, will attach to tagboard with adhesive photo squares (that I used for the Houseworks carpet). That way flooring can be pulled out easily (theoretically). Waiting for baseboard and chairrail - and saving up for LED lights! -

I finally painted the outside of my house. Its a purple color with white trim and the shingles are painted a charcoal grey. Have not put in windows yet and not sure when I will. -
