finishing up front patio overhang. Have to start working on framing our windows while waiting for lead tape to arrive. I want to thank you all for inspiring to go further. I'm absolutely loving all these new techniques I'm learning.- 10 comments

After researching a ton on the Internet, I decided to experiment with foam bored to create a brick facade. It relatively easy and inexpensive. I painted the chimney in a base color with acrylic paint -

After gluing all the shingles I realized I would have liked the flat square shingles. Oh well, next house. I painted the shingles a deep gray, and dry brushed a deep brown. After that dried I used Annie Sloan Dark Wax to age it.-

I finally finished it. Not at all perfect but I like it. It is simply made of foam board main frame, cardboard drawers, and air dry clay wheels.

I had some Elmer's foam board from another project and am thinking of putting a brick foundation on the Orchid. Really like how these are coming out , need a couple more coats of different shades. The gray / white with bigger blocks would look like cement blocks.- 1 comment
