Here is Ellie mark 2 relaxing in the garden room with the cat, a drink and a good book - lovely. The rugs are all from my stash and bought from various places. The window shades were made from the mesh supplied with this kit, two layers cross hatching to give a sort of Moroccan look to the window. The tiny turning on display are from various artists and have been collected over some time. The most recent ones were the elegant wooden box in the centre left window from Alan's Miniatures - find him on Facebook and the sea urchin box from Hartwood Woodturning on Ebay. Cushions, couch, lights and plants are all homemade© Jo Medvenics 2012

The sun roof and the roof of the old cottage extension to the left of the picture are both removeable to provide easy access. I made a small frame on the inside of each roof that sits inside the walls and prevents the roofs from slipping off. When they are in place they are quite stable with no need for hinges or fastenings.© Jo Medvenics 2012

The back of the garden room showing Ellie enjoying a drink on her sun lounger. This was a cheap whitewood sunlounger bought on Ebay I attached a Heidi Ott unbrella - customised to give it that bohemian look and I made the cushions to cover it. In hindsight I think I should have done something with the wheels as they look a bit clunky. I made the figure of Ellie sunbathing so that she could either be out here on the patio or relaxing on the garden room couch. I was amazed to find a brilliant set of sliding doors at The Dolls House Emporium. With a little adjustment, they fitted the opening perfectly and with some melted candle wax painted in the grooves, they slide open and shut like a dream.© Jo Medvenics 2012

The front part of the garden room created from an old cottage. The wisteria is handmade using a combination of leaves from HBS and Bonnie Lavish. The flowers were made from floral tape wrapped around floral wire in a cone shape and dipped in flowersoft. Some of the flowers had a final half coating of purple microbeads.© Jo Medvenics 2012

This is why I called it The Lanterns. The lanterns are made out of large translucent pink beads and some old bronze coloured jewellery findings. They were very easy to make once I had a design in my head. The tiles in the porch are by a seller called Toolshed22 on Ebay. They are beautiful and very intricate.© Jo Medvenics 2012

Take a tour of the garden with Ellie. I made the Ellie you see here and the Ellie you will see elsewhere in this build (but dressed differently) to demonstrate the different uses of the building. Now I'll be the first to admit they don't exactly look like the same person - could be sisters - but I'll ask for indulgence here - imagine its the same lady.© Jo Medvenics 2012

I ended up with quite a tricky roofline but I'm pleased with the way it turned out. When I cut out the hole for the conservatory attachment I salvaged the windows and used them to make an opening window in the roof. Vines have now started to grow out through this window from the inside of the garden room so Ellie rarely closes it. There are tiny fasteners on each window but the window is fixed in the open position and doesn't actually close.© Jo Medvenics 2012
