Made the decision to have Santa bring the garfield for my 10 year old. I am noa having issues even getting the subfloor installed due to pieces not seeming to fit properly. Is their any help I could get. My daughter would greatly appreciate it.

So I've put together the foundation pieces and went to put on the first floor but for some reason the nice, smooth finished side of the floor has to be put on face down instead of up. Did I do something wrong with the foundation pieces to where the floor is put on upside down or is that just a manufactor error. I plan on covering the floor with wood flooring so you wouldn't see it but I'm curious as to if this will put errors in the rest of the build. I've had to flip the nice finished side the opposite way on the foundation pieces so it would go together but covering those up as well with stone so I didn't think it was a big deal.

Hi, I want to make working sash windows for my Garfield which has been despatched and will hopefully be with me inJanuary. Am trying to locate some double channel moulding to help make the windows and I just wondered if anyone knew where I could find some. I'm in the UK and I'm finding it difficult to locate any.....

I decided to go against using wallpaper on the walls but to paint them with designs or just solid colors with wood trim depending on the rooms... I know acrylic paint is water based and could expand/warp the wood which I would like to avoid at all costs. If anyone out there has painted their homes what type and brand are the best paints to use?

Hi from CT! The Garfield is my first dollhouse build. Very excited! Has anyone primed the sheets before punching out the pieces or would it be best to prime piece by piece as I go along so it's not even more difficult getting the pieces out?

I have finished adding brick borders to the 30 windows! I especially like the borders around the tower windows and the oval windows. Read more at: http://thegarfieldblog.blogspot.com/2014/04/brick-borders-complete.html -

So I'm at a stand still in the building process of my Garfield. I finally figured out the interior design but I am going back and forth between wiring the house for lights or just leaving them out of the house. If I do go forward with wiring, is the tape wire better than actual wiring? I've recently been told there are battery operated lights. Everyone has their opinions about wiring but I'd like to keep it specific to the Garfield being that it is a large house and some of the rooms, once assembled, are hard to get to. I'd like to read about people's adventures with the wiring, the good, the bad and the ugly! Thanks

The tower siding and roof is finally done! It took 1,200 shingles. -
So the Garfiled is being delivered tomorrow and everyone has their opinions of what is needed and what is not for the construction of the house. At this time I'm preparing a list of things I'll need to get started and am welcoming anyone's helpful suggestions. Thank you in advance.

In the back of the house, by the kitchen bay window, we now have a copper/brass water pump by the Durham company. I mixed watered down glue with sand, and leveled it out within a border of paperclay bricks to create the cement effect. Read more at: http://thegarfieldblog.blogspot.com -

I took clumps of flocking material, and patted them down to create a thin layer of grass on the base. I mixed small batches so that the mixture would not dry out while I worked, but the process went quite fast for me. This is the first time that I ever flocked dollhouse lawn, and I was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was. Read more at: http://thegarfieldblog.blogspot.com/2014/06/the-perfect-lawn.html -
