I'm awaiting the delivery of my first Greenleaf house, The Orchid. I've always loved and had an interest in anything paranormal, and when I picked out a doll house with the intention of creating a "haunted house" the Orchid seems to be the perfect choice for me. I want to create her, (funny how I think of the house as a her) as a turn of the century home, that has a underlying theme of a haunt. I want it as authentic as I can make her. I have bits of tattered lace for her curtains, and I want to tea dye them and distress them a bit. I know I want a nursery in there, a kitchen and a formal parlor and attic. I'm not sure if I'm going to paint the walls or wallpaper. I'm still mulling that over. And I think I want to electrify her because it will be a good starting point to learn with the simplistic design the house has. I can't wait for her to come, and I'll be updating this thread with pictures and my journey to create her.

Martin has just arrived at the old family cabin, located in the Northwest woods, that has been in his family for four generations. He and his siblings are trying to decide if they are going to keep it or sell it.© CheckMouse

Martin called his sister again. It was too soon to consider selling the old cabin. Maybe they could get together a bunch of cousins and camp out here and fix the old place up again!© CheckMouse

Startled, he jumped back, almost falling off the balcony. Was that his great-grandmother? It certainly looked like her, but that was impossible! This is my pièce de résistance. I've been trying for almost a year to figure a way to make a ghost appear and disappear. Finally figured out how to do it! But don't be scared - she's just great-grandma's spirit watching over the cabin. That is actually a photo of my great-grandmother, with some photo manipulation, of course.© CheckMouse

His great-grandparents built it when they were young, and it was the Family Cabin for holidays and summers. It rang with love and laughter.© CheckMouse

It was so peaceful out here. It felt good to be away from the city.© CheckMouse

Nature began to reclaim its own, and the basement door was almost hidden by bushes. Martin noticed the old wagon wheel, and remembered the family legend about his grandfather and uncle being stranded.© CheckMouse

Then the Great Depression hit (Grandpa lost all his money), followed by WWII, and the cabin was used less and less. The kids grew up and started their own families. Finances were tight but Grandpa always kept the taxes paid.© CheckMouse

This build is set in a cupboard, so the back and right sides are not visible. I added a back wall to the house, and the roof is removable for access and better visibility.© CheckMouse

Nostalgia swept over him as he contemplated the old stove, now stained with rust. Grandma cooking, Mother cooking, children running in for a quick snack …© CheckMouse

From the album: Country House - Renovated
Grandma and Grandpa are discussing how fortunate they are to be able to enjoy their grandchildren on special days like Halloween. Grandpa is saying how God was good to them, and Grandma is saying how she feels someone up above is watching over them. -
From the album: Country House - Renovated
Holly is saying good night to her new found friend who is one step beyond the window. She was going to open it to let him in, but he said that was unnecessary because he could simply go through the walls if he wanted to. The light behind Holly is a real-life light that is reflecting on the window. It is in my bedroom and not the dollhouse, but it looks like it's on the other side of the window. -

Now that they figured each other out, these two are quickly becoming friends. -

Holly thinks she is talking to Carrie, who is dressed like a ghost, and this ghost thinks he is encountering a talking pile of leaves. -
Oooo ..... http://homes.yahoo.com/news/living-haunted-house-171131587.html I don't know if anyone else has seen this before, if so, I apologise for posting it again! I wonder if this house inspired a Greenleaf House?

This spirited little friend looks like he got into Grandma and Grandpa's wine, but he's just enjoying the season like the rest of the family. -

Re-purposed a mirror from a make-up compact, sanded off the coating in the center and attached an image I found on google. -

The girls believe the house is haunted because when my ceiling fan is on, the rocking chair in Grandma's bedroom rocks by itself. Now they may have proof on film. Grandma is in her room trying to decide if the purple vase Grandpa bought her looks best on the mantle or vanity, and it looks like a friendly ghost may be offering his opinion. Do you see the image of a face in the light?
