One of the most obvious changes I made to this room was the removal of the fireplace. This house had no closet space so I turned the once fireplace into a faux closet.- 2 comments

Here is a sneak peek of my first completed wall! This wall will eventually have the sink and toilet on it. Still needs grout and a little touching up. Can't wait to share the finished bathroom with ya'll! Only 2017263628289389 tiles left to install!!- 9 comments

From the album: The Glencroft Dollhouse: Living Room and Dining Room
I finally added the beams and finished the crown moulding in the living room! I also finished the newel post on the stairs and the bannisters. The stairs look a little shiny because I had just varnished them. I got a little impatient and didnt want to wait for it to dry to take photos.- 2 comments

TGIF! Im am so happy with the progress of my Glencroft! I started yesterday by gluing some of the remaining facade pieces. The upstairs gables were glued in and I was able to finally make my sub-walls out of foam board for the upstairs! (See pictures below). Once I finally had the front walls all tacked, I was able to start planning the Stone Portico/Porch that I will be adding to the front. I plan on making this out of 3/4 plywood to give the walls a heavy stone thickness but at first I wanted to make it out of foam board so I can get an idea how the finished product will look. Since the new porch addition covers most of the swooping roof line in the front, I was able to remove a small section on roof that comes through the living-room above the front door. Now, the room is nice and square. You can see in one of the pictures below. Last night I picked up a few finishing supplies (Stain, varnish and paint) so I can finally start doing some detailing. I want the wood throughout the house to be a really dark rick color so I plan on mixing a cherry, walnut and a hint of ebony stain to hopefully achieve this.

Hi Guys! Aside from posting about my progress on here, I decided to start an Instagram account completely dedicated to my build. I always follow back other mini-enthusiasts! Username: @IBuildSmallThings Much Love! Chris

I fell in love with this bathroom the second I came across it. I knew this was the bathroom I wanted to use as my inspiration for my Glencroft's Bathroom. I plan on making all the subway tiles by hand using various materials. (Thinking about posting a tutorial) SO stay tuned!-

Another shot of the finished ceiling. For the white part, (before I glued in the walls) I painted the ceiling with 5 layers of white chalk paint I had leftover from a shabby chic project. Sanded it till it was paper smooth with 400 grit sandpaper, and then waxed it to seal it and give it that satin glossy look. I did the same thing for the dining room walls except I used a small brush to apply the paint and then lightly sanded so you can still see the texture to emulate plaster.-

The fireplace was a several step process. I used black acrylic paint to get a basecoat in the hearth and then once that dried, I used a lighter to add the final touch of realism by hovering it under an area of the fireplace that I wanted to blacken, being carful not to burn the resin of the fireplace.-

I picked up the Chandelier from miniatures.com, I thought it worked well with the design of the rooms.-
