Hello from Pennsylvania! My father and I are planning on building the Glencroft doll house, starting next month as a birthday present for myself from him. This will be both of our first attempts at dollhouse building, but he has quite a bit of woodworking background through his scroll saw hobby. I'm excited to join the community behind this awesome hobby I've been thinking about starting for years.

Hello All! I was curious if I could get some opinions on the addition I'm planning on adding to my Glencroft kit. I haven't received the kit yet (most likely early July) so I haven't been able to dry fit or take pictures to look at my plans. But I do have two additions in mind and wanted some opinions on them. The first addition should be relatively straight forward as I would like to turn the intended kitchen into a formal dining room and then add a kitchen/conservatory room onto the left side of the house (when looking at the back). This doesn't require much changes other than replacing the window with a door and exterior decorations. The other addition that I want to do is the one I am worried might be too much to tackle and was hoping for some insight from others who have built the Glencroft. I am hoping to add a personal library onto the right of the house. I have three tentative plans that I would like to try. The first is to remove the bookcase on the first floor and replace it with a walk through doorway to the addition. This is by far my preferred choice, but I am worried that there is not enough "head room" as the bookcase goes under a portion of the stairs. The second plan would be to bring a second small step of stairs down into the addition from the first landing. I loved that the stairs went up a small tight hallway, and was unsure if this would change the whole feel of the stairway from cozy cottage to something a little more grand (but maybe that would be okay too). Finally the modification that I would least like to do would be to remove the first floor fireplace and place the walk through to the addition where the fireplace sat. (maybe I could do a new fireplace in the addition). Once I have the kit in my possession I hope to be able to take some pictures during the dry-fit. But until then, was curious if anyone had some insight for the additions from experience with the house. Thanks! I'm so excited to begin this build and although I don't want to wish away my summer, I really am looking forward to getting this gift in July!

My skills, confidence and ideas improved throughout a year of dollhouse projects. Watch as I show and discuss my Orchid, Glencroft and Storybook Cottage projects and how they became my focal Christmas decorations. Enjoy as much as I did!

Started on a potion cabinet. Needs some more work. It looks too clean. -

Re-purposed a mirror from a make-up compact, sanded off the coating in the center and attached an image I found on google. -

I found a site with a ton of spooky printables and tried out one of the coffins. Prints nice, easy to put together and looks pretty good. I prefer wood and will probably make one later on. -

The house was in bad shape. Old, dilapidated, and ripe for a haunting. -
Hi Everyone, Years ago I had started a Glencroft Dollhouse with my granddaughter and joined the Community but stopped working on the house shortly thereafter. My granddaughter had never played with dolls but loved helping me construct the house. We only built the shell when she moved away. I now want to finish it but am not sure how to go about it. I don't even have the windows in yet. I saw some blogs where others had built Glencrofts but the blogs only had the end results. Are there any that show it from the start? Thanks for any advice, Diane

New to this forum. New to Greenleaf kits. Have just completed the first page of instructions qnd realize I started with the first floor upside down. Now everything is reversed. right side is actually the kit'sleft side and vica versa. Will everything turn out OK if I keep going? Not sure I can disassemble without breaking pieces. to this point everything fits fine, just reversed from picture on box. Any help will be appreciated. Reviewed the Glencroft blog and will have more questions later about hinges, door knobs, stucco, etc. I'm afraid at this point my posts will mostly be questions. Hope to gain enough experience to help others ih the future. Thanks from N.C.

Hello I live in Cape Town South Africa and am a member of the Miniaturia Guild of Cape Town. There are many miniature projects in my collection and have achived two firsts in our annual challenge of which I am most thrilled. Miniatures is such a wonderful hobby and is the "home" of all my different craft skills because you do just about everything which is great. I have managed to purchase (second hand) an unused Glencroft kit from a lady who originally purchased the kit for her daughter some years back but the kit was never used. Sadly, the kit is missing it’s step-by-step instruction book and after reading the Glencroft blog, I realise that I cannot even begin without the book. Can I get one online or perhaps in PDF form. This is my first bought dollhouse kit and I want to get it right. All my own projects so far have been self designed and built from scratch. I hope you can assist. Many thanks Belinda McWilliams www.castlehillcc.co.za
