Is this a creation from one of our members? For starters, I'd like to know how they did the slate roof? :thumb: YouTube: Published on Sep 9, 2012 by 99ltd

I'm almost done! Just a few little details left: door knob. street address. top cap of roof tiles. And a little lady in the chair knitting (on it's way from Miniatures.com) -
This is my first doll house. When I was a teen/twenties I used to make high quality doll furniture and sell it at local doll museums/shops. But I never had the room for an actual doll house. I saw the Glencroft at a friends house and she bought me one for Christmas. Of course, I had to add my own touch: I'm changing the roof line. I don't like cropped roofs. I like the height of full roofs. I love the architecture of stairs. A great set of stairs can make any small space look bigger. So I took out the wall and opened up the staircase. I just love how the railings came out. And also I enlarged the shelving beneath the stairs to make it look more custom. I love how grand it all looks. I would totally want to live here. I added a window between the living room and kitchen. I plan to put a stained glass window in it. I started the stone work with vinyl spackeling in the kitchen. It came out great but took forever to carve. And the dust it created was ghastly. Then I read about Paper Clay here on the board. OMG. I love, love, LOVE this product. It was so much easier to do the fireplace walls. I'm really looking forward to finishing the fireplaces and using PaperClay on the stair case wall too. I think I might even add it to the exterior. These are my current images. I've really enjoyed seeing everyone's images so I hope you enjoy mine too! Happy New Year, Bogie

Oh boy, I am really excited. This weekend is going to be my first miniature show. I will be showing my first doll house, "Spinner's End" to the public. My mom is coming with me for both lifting and emotional support. I have fallen in love with this house so although I am excited to sell it I am also going to be really sad to see it go. To help us process orders at the show we went ahead and listed it on Etsy: http://www.etsy.com/...ellaStudioMinis Thank you to everyone on this board who has given me so much encouragement. Special note to Meme: I tried to PM you today. I don't think it's working. You should be able to contact me through my etsy store.

The bath's taking shape. Now I just need all the mini details. -

Here's my frosted glass door. I couldn't find any thin frosted glass on line anywhere. Finally gave up and had to make my own glass. Made a mold and used Smooth-on "crystal clear" resin. I LOOOOOVE it. It came out perfect. Now I just need to add my door knobs. -

Amost done here too. I just need to: finish side of brick stairs. Back section of roofing and tile. Needs a red squirrel on the shed. I'm really liking how the moss came out. -

In my failed attempts to get this album started I was trying to say this: This Glencroft kit is from 1987. A friend had it in her basement and had never gotten around to building this house, so she gave it to me. The wood is in pretty good shape, considering! -

started doing panel & tiles early, so it would be easier to get at -

I have almost everything I need for the living room. All I need now is a photo over the mantle, an upright spinning wheel for beside the stairs and a little person sitting to bring the whole scene to life. -

Front roof done. I really like how the English tiles came out. It was really monotonous making each tile, but totally worth it. Landscaping painted and finished the initial wash of color on the house. It's definitely too pale right now. Need to go in and darken and age each stone to make it look more real. But... it's getting there. -

Pretty happy with the tiles. There's even a few "broken" and about to "fall off." It's taking a long time, but I think I'm getting the hang of it. Well that was a fun weekend. Now back to my work week. -

Next challenge: I made a shed to cover the access to the lighting junction. Now I need to find a way to put magnets on the house and/or shed so that the shed can easily popped on and off. -

I've been going e-bay crazy buying furniture kits. Made good progress on some of my Living Room Furniture this weekend. (Still have to do the highlighting staining and final sanding/varnishing.) My chaise lounge is a bashed Chippendale sofa and I just LOVE how it came out. Now I have to figure out how to make one for my real house. -

I tried putting the living room furniture near the fireplace, which you would expect, but it kept looking crowded. On a whim I swapped the dinning with the living and now I think the room looks quite large and roomy. YEAH! -

I only have one set of windows left to make! and some more paint to go on the stonework -

This is a little darker than I expected with three bulbs in the fixture, I think i will have to get a battery operated desk lamp or something in here. -

Well I finally got my lighting fixed today! I was all settled in for careful excavation of the wiring on the second floor thinking that I must have sliced through or snapped some of the wires. Turns out the bulbs were loose! -
