Started dry brushing on various reds, cream, and dark brown tonight, will build up a base of colour and then a final wash or two of very thin brown to tone the bricks. The stones around the doorway will be painted cream I think.© Aaron Cameron

When I took this picture, I was still finishing up the stair well, but you can see a wide shot of the rest of the finished room.-

I was never a fan of the original staircase that came with the kit. It felt out of proportion and lacked detail. In my initial kit bashing, I cut off the original wall section here and created a new one from various porch and stair materials. -

One of the most obvious changes I made to this room was the removal of the fireplace. This house had no closet space so I turned the once fireplace into a faux closet.- 2 comments

Here is a sneak peek of my first completed wall! This wall will eventually have the sink and toilet on it. Still needs grout and a little touching up. Can't wait to share the finished bathroom with ya'll! Only 2017263628289389 tiles left to install!!- 9 comments

I fell in love with this bathroom the second I came across it. I knew this was the bathroom I wanted to use as my inspiration for my Glencroft's Bathroom. I plan on making all the subway tiles by hand using various materials. (Thinking about posting a tutorial) SO stay tuned!-

Another shot of the finished ceiling. For the white part, (before I glued in the walls) I painted the ceiling with 5 layers of white chalk paint I had leftover from a shabby chic project. Sanded it till it was paper smooth with 400 grit sandpaper, and then waxed it to seal it and give it that satin glossy look. I did the same thing for the dining room walls except I used a small brush to apply the paint and then lightly sanded so you can still see the texture to emulate plaster.-

The fireplace was a several step process. I used black acrylic paint to get a basecoat in the hearth and then once that dried, I used a lighter to add the final touch of realism by hovering it under an area of the fireplace that I wanted to blacken, being carful not to burn the resin of the fireplace.-
